Hello. Newbie here. First, thanks for the great time I have had on the game so far. Second, a question:

After reading the announcment, it is my understanding that Illarion will be wiped to make way for the upgrades (and I don't think this has happened yet, correct?).

Anyway, what I don't catch is the idea of what happens to characters one wants to keep (as this is what I hope to do). Will we just have access to the same character name and introduced players or will our char retain his/her skills, items, etc. as well?

Wouldn't want to do anything too major depending on when this is scheduled to happen.

If you read (and are refeing to) the announcement entitled 'Huge Update' then it already happened. We had the char wipe some weeks ago.

I don't wish it and I am satisfied with the non-history-wipe.
This is/was one of the great reasons, which hold me over years in Illaron, the on going history.

i still dont wish a history wipe too. until now i had great fun ingame. and my characters met old friends, and there was no prblem roleplaying with them. it was like ever. its okay so, and i am happy that the history ist still there ingame.

Same to me. I even had no problems playing the old chars (they had extreme skills from old ages) as total newbies.

That was you.
Others see their reason of existance to gain back the skills and items they had, which I consider a lack of RP understanding. That destroys RP and that keeps off players.

I still wish we had a complete history wipe.

The history wipe wouldn't change it martin. with new characters they would do the same. just because they had a history before doesn't mean they hunt skills and items because of that. with or without history, they would do the same.

Me too.

Honestly, lately I've been feeling greatly disappointed with alot of older players of the game. Alot of whom I had looked up to for RP, but of whom I've also come to see you're simply inflexible. Especially when I had vouched for complete history wipe before the wipe came around, it kinda pained me that you people couldn't and wouldn't let go of a bunch of fiction.

To destroy some commonly believed myths:
• There is RP off of Illarion and in other games, too.
• You can RP with new characters and a new world and writing a new history, too.
• You can RP with nothing and less than nothing, I know I did it when I was new here, too.

hey, i have new characters, and some old ones were changed. like paidraig, he changed from a lazy tramp to a lazy ranger, hehehe .

I play more with my new ones, or changed ones, than with Galim for example.

And when i play than roleplay. i have simply no nerve for skill and itemhunting...i get too fast bored by it.
