Hi everybody,
I would like to give Illarion a try, so I just downloaded the client. But everytime I try to connect to the server, nothing happens.

I'm running Windows 2000 SP4 with Kerio Personel Firewall and I'm connected to the internet via DSL using a Fritz!Box Fon. I tried to open both the soft- and the hardware firewall, but I'm not shure if I entered the correct parameters, so:

- What protocoll is used, which ports have to be open (other than 3008)?

- The client seems to try to establish a connection via a different port each time I start it, and then there seems to be no trafic at all. What is this?

before you can play you have to create an Account (under this link) , than you have to create a character in your account and you have to wait that the characters name get accepted by a gm, after that you are able to play. this will take 1-3 days, or even just a few hours. good luck, read the name and gamerules first!

The client only uses port 3008.
If there is any other port involved, it certainly does NOT come from the Illarion client.

I've got an account, my charcter name was accepted, I destributed points... but I still can't log onto the server.

If I type in my username and password and click ok (because I now have a charcter, I think...), the screen goes black. If I click "create new" instead of ok, the screen stays as it was - in any case the message "WSAECONREFUSED" comes up, I'm told to be offline bla bla bla,...

Are you sure you have the most recent client? There shouldn't be a "Create New"- button any more.

I downloaded the client yesterday...

Build 26?

you ar using the wrong client which tries to connect to the old (non-existing) server. redownload the client and make sure you use the one you just downloaded. it has to be build 26 when you start it.

No, build 25... but I didn' download it directly from here, but from www.it-falke.com ...

im new and i did all that was asked, my character was created and all, and i downloaded client build 26, but each time i try to connect, i get a big black screen and then the message: connection closed from server. what's going on? thanks
