Rusted Weapons

All rusted weapons were deactivated because they will be thrown out of the game one day. You can roleplay them as "useless".
All other weapons that didn't work properly (like war axes, maces and some shields) should work again. If not, report them on flyspray:

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Don't we get a rusted dagger when we start as a fighter? Just not my idea, getting a useless weapon at the start.

Yeah, I started a character a while ago, but haven't actually used him. Guess I'll have to pick someone up and ask them very nicely for a sword

Now,now please dont go sullying my harmless post with any vulgar inuendo. Although being the simple pure sort, I wont know a thing about it any way...
By the way on a very real note, I actually dont like the idea of removal of rusty weapons. As they are a very handy tool for helping new players learn to fight. Once you are up in the master levels it becomes all to easy to kill a new character. When all you wanted to do was teach them a little.
Any chance carpentars could make pratice weapons good for one duel or even better X amount of blows. They could do damage a little less than rusty weapons. That way when a new character asks me to teach them I can send them to buy a pratice blade or pratice mace and give them a few pointers.
Actually rping teaching some one to fight, as apposed to just dueling to up skills can really great role play...I find

In a single-player RP I used to play, you could pay to have your weapons repaired when they got rusty...I believe the more times it had been repaired, though, the lower the resell value was, and the lower its overall duration got (EG A sword that started out as 40/40 and rusted then got repaired would drop to 35/35 and so on)

From what I know they're going to be removed because there isn't a rusty version of every weapon anyway and the is no possibility to include an unlimited amount of graphics into the client. So either keep your rusty, useless, uncomplete weapons or get new shiny, interesting, thrilling items to play with.
Also, we have quality implemented now anyway, so there's no really need for low quality versions of weapons now anyway.
And, you know Pendar, hitting someone with a rusty blade might result in a serious blood- poisoning.

Couldnt agree more, luckily they take long enough to rust that I could always slap down about 4 #me's.
#me begins witteling a piece of wood etc....
Rusty weapons never dream of useing such a thing, now i just need to find a new graphic for pendar's pantented training swords
As to lock jaw were as I do appreciate your concerns aeghol and think the new newbie protection and nurture act vital. Comeing from GM's who believe rotworms can be safely held in captivity...I find your sentiment rings a little hollow
