Erm, that is so impossible! And there is a skill cap. To avoid powergaming like you apparently are trying to do. See, it works! You have to be an apprentice before you can be a master.

ok im a little lost why is it working for smithing and not mining.
The only way to get better at things is buy practice right, and that is what im doing.

Maybe you have gained your mining limit for the day.

Yeah, but don't expect to be a grandmaster too soon. The game was designed to be more difficult than before. It's for your own good, trust me.

Is that what the message saying my mind is too tired to learn anymore means? That I've reached my daily skill cap? It doesn't go away with eating food so that isn't the message I'm talking about.

It does not appear to be a daily skill cap but yes it is indeed a skill cap. Usually doing something else for around 15 minutes or so is enough. It happens alot more in lower levels are of course you are "skilling up" a lot faster.
It is the new skill cap though and I personally think it is great.

It is possible that the act of making ingots does not increase your skill...or only very slowly. Actually making items will probably increase your skill faster. (Same with carpentry and boards).
But this is just a guess.

Pendar quit being greedy and having people powergame to supply your corrupt town guard with weapons!

*this was a joke*
