things we need to know beforehand...well i'm pretty much screwed on my main character. having lost all my money and items on that first day due to massive monster overspawning. and now i basically have absolutly nothing. while i'm on the topic of complaining. is there some reason Varshikar deserves no attention from anyone. our depots were taken, we've got no NPC not to mention it's a very long walk to the town of trollsbane. we don't even have a frickin Anvil anymore. I didn't expect the place to be striped bare after the wipe. i somewhat expected it top be a bit better. Frankly if no one is wanted to play in that area i don't see what the point is to leaving it' standing. it' went from looking nice and improving (much to the likeof the players who lived there) to becoming a completely unlivable area. is there a reason behind that too?

DON'T GIVE UP! One of my characters had the same thing happen, loosing all his stuff to the chest bug.
I finally got ahold of a GM and he said they don't do reimbursments here and suggested I take up begging. Instead of getting bitter I took the suggestion seriously and RPed getting mugged (also accounting for my memory loss). It was fun and I was surprised to find that characters were willing to give me spare eq to get started, shoes and shirt, a couple copper coins and eventually I was able to make money on my own. So don't give up on the character, playing the rags to riches bit can actually be a blast if you get into it.

thats rather lame. getting ripped because a bug in the system and paying for it through the nose. no thanks i'll just play my other characters for now and blow of some steam. as to the Varshikar point. it can either be addressed here without the start of a new thread or i can repeatidly start threads about it until a GM actually gives a reply of some merit.
if you mean the chest then wipe while things are inside a chest is wierd. secondly. the fact that Varshikars chests are gone is my fault as well?
as to the ogres i went there and thwere were still alot of them but at that point and time there were tons of monsters all over the map, more then should have been. and they disappeared right after we logged off for a short period so something things could be fixed. now your telling me that you wouldn't think being that there were dozens of monsters all out of places everywhere that it was a bug? because they were gone right after.
and i'm still asking you about Varshikar. if you feel like snide remarks are going to make me forget what i asked then your wrong. i'd still like to know why Varshikar gets prgressivly worse and every other places seems to have gotten at least somewhat better.

Its not really worse, actually the houses are larger, the castle is larger.
It is tighter together yes. However, about 6 people went into the undead zombee castle and all were killed because of over spawning. Gms did not help them even tho it was a mistake to have so many undead zombees in that spot. I doubt they will see your arguement any differently.

i'm going to shrg at that one Cliu. mainly because i wouln't be surprized if it were bad off. i'm sure Varshikar isn't the only place that has been overlooked. but the problem is trying to get attention drawn to these places. which i'm attempting to do at the moment. so help or hinder and if your doing neither drop the smart remarks. your wasting thread space

And why not?
This is not really the scripters' job, but the people who laid out the map.
Sooner or later it should be looked into. I can see why certain buildings were removed due to inactivity of their owners, but concerning Varshikar specifically I know the in-game community there was rather active before the wipe. Unless of course there is some devious plan to concentrate the players all in Troll's Bane for now until there are more players actively playing at a time; I find these "civilization shortages" (not just Varshikar) somewhat peculiar.
Or am I the only one who finds the Shi Long Monastery missing to be somewhat... odd?

@Cliu:
How am i asking something thats so out of whack. i'm asking why things that were for the most part, right on the map at the time of the wipe, are gone. not asking them to rebuild our castle, not asking the Gm's to give us a mass amount of riches. i'm asking why it's not what it was before. else maybe you can explain to me why a freakin castle, Grey rose Castle. with no one in it half the freakin time, that isn't even a small township. is nicer then most other places and has it's own NPC. please explain that if you will, since you seems so apt to draw this into an argument.

Maybe because it is a huge landmark. They also had a deadline. Notice the Jail is not there also, not a major importance. I assume all of greenbriar isn't there just like Varshikar, they did not finish it.
Some places like the Docks are there because lizards start of their, skulls cave because of the orcs and so on. Be patient, the community is still in a hectic phase.

your argument is maybe because it's a huge landmark? my arguement is that even Greenbrair had an npc did it not. and a wroking Depot i'm guessing. it may not be prefect but it's liveable. Varshikar is not livable. a characters needs to walk between Varshikar and town constantly. just to put items away. You can't work up there do to this fact. you really can't even carry a decent amount of items without a herendenous walk over our beautiful and rather large map. exaplin to me why every other township gets basics and Varshikar doesn't. this isn't something that should have been now looked into to. it was something that could have been done in the inital remake of the Client since every other place was done as such. Now i'm not here to bad mouth Gm's Cliu, and i'm not here to pick a fight. i'm asking if it's at all possible for something to be done about this problem in the near future. personally i think the Gm's have done a wonderful job. but i do feel that Varshikar was massly overlooked though it shouldn't have been. if you want me to 'be patient' then shut up and leave the thread alone so i can stop being bothered with replying to you. i've stated my veiws. you don't like it then tough

Hold your horses guys.
I am working at every corner of the map, and I just have my two hands.
Each area gets equal attention by me, and will recive the same attention in the future.
I'll take a look at the tool-population of Vishi-Land soon, as well as of Greenbriar (correct spelled?) and Trollsbane.
But dont take everthing for granted you once had, and never payed for, like the farmland.
To clear up with some rumors, the houses are at the same size, but the castle has been downscaled.
You'll get an NPC, I am asking for the removal of the NPC in the Grey Rose Castle, since neither I can explain that presens there other then messed up coordinates.
Shi Long Monastry has been removed because of the absense of the owner, as Sian suggested himself ... and obvisouly forgot.
The Prision has been moved into town, as many players demanded.
The lack of depots can be explained by my problems of placing them and the still present interlink of depots which make them to the rares objects I am willing to place.
Edit:
Corrected the name of the land that sounds like a butter brand.

I'd say Sammy the ol' dog has many a good reasons to be there. As a merchant I'd choose Castle Grey Rose anyday for my base of operations over a town shop where my goods and essentials have been stolen many times over. Just for example, I do reckon Sian was partially responsible once for stealing Sam's depot chest once.A recent log file of mine wrote:Sian smiles dashingly.
Sian: Greetings
Sam: Indeed. Greetings. Who are you?
Sian: I am Sian my friend.
Sian: Long time no see.
Sian: Why are you here now?
Sian: Got tired of the crime in the town, eh?
Sian laughs.
Sian: Wise man.
Sian: What do you sell these days?
Sam: I sell clothes, tools, food and more.

Agreed, after all we have a BUNCH of chests of different types about the realms. If you can't store things in them - understanding that someone else is perfectly capable of taking them out - without worrying about the stuff in them going *POOF*, then what is the point of having the chests. All they really do is a great job at tricking newbies into loosing their starting equipment/money...Rackere Diplomatre wrote:*cough* Reality *cough*martin wrote:But Athian, that was your foult, it wasn't even a bug.

Imagine this would happen in real life as you expect the game to develope to. Now, don't tell me we play in a virtual world with other rules of nature and such things happen there.
UNLESS, it is planned to change it so that things DON'T dissappear from the chests. I mean, I understand if stuff gets lost over a server crash, it's the chance you take just like you chance someone coming along and stealing it. But at the moment, the way chests are coded, there is no reason to use them, they might as well be potted plants or vases or something for how useful they are and that's a shame considering how good they could be, espescially in places with no depot.
Heck, they would be great newbie eq holders, we could set up a poor house where people could donate clothes and such so poor players could be helped by rich ones even when the rich ones aren't around. (Of course, thieves would probably raid these frequently but that's perfectly acceptable RP)
Anyhow, PLEASE don't tell me that chests are INTENDED to be the way they are.
