If you're going to San Francisco...

Would it be trivial to allow people to place a flower in the helmet inventory slot instead of a helmet?

Its not really neccessary as you can just state that you have a flower in your hair, but I'm guessing that it would be a very simple change to make.

Hmm.. possibly one day* you could make it so that one can view (but not amend) the items that another character is wearing. Something like, if you right click on them while holding down ALT, your inventory picture is replaced with thiers until you let go of the mouse button.

I'm 100% sure that there's no intention to implement something like that. I want the game makers to spend time at more important things. Why waste their time with this, when, as you have already said, that this can be roleplayed.

I agree. For me it doesn't matter about the graphics so much but its the roleplay. Of course not all roleplay is good.

but it gets you out of your everyday shell of a life and makes somethings exciting.

But it is also good that Illarion has very good graphics I am well pleased with the making of this game.

It wouldn't even be a graphical tweak (that really would be way too much effort) just there for the same reason as you can wear a blue robe or a yellow robe. The reason I bother suggesting it is there is a good chance that it would be quicker to implement than, for example, writing this reply.
Might not be easy to code, or it might force flowers to take up more memory in which case the coders will no doubt simply ignore this topic without it consuming a great deal of time.

I just can't see the point of it. It's not like this is a request that will benefit everyone in Illarion. It's simply an "I want.." topic. Sorry if I'm coming across as an asshole, but if something so irrelevant and specifically tailored for your own personal desires, then I want a magical flying carpet.

I, Actually like this idea.

I'm no programmer, but, I can't imagine that it would take any more than a few seconds to make a flower equipable in the helmet slot. No big deal, is it?

It will most likely just mean to open the database and change the flower item into a helmet with zero protection. Unless the plain existence of an equipped helmet already influences the fighting system. Well then it would be difficult as from what I heard the protection values of flowers are rather nonexistent.

However, ffrom all the roleplaying value, implementing this does indeed only make sense once one is able to look at the equipment of others.

What are you talking about? Mario and Luigi use flowers for great protection. It allows them to take at least another thwack from a goomba! And the flowers let them channel fire from their hands! :o

But seriously. I wouldn't think this implementation would be that difficult, though it is simple enough to roleplay. It would, however, add to the game's realism if it was made into a helmet and allocated a defensive value of zero, like Adano has stated.

Wouldn't it be funny if the programming was done a bit strangely.... and when you put a flower in someone's hair, it actually replaced the helmet or other item?

Then during battle, you could lower the opponent's defense by simply throwing Firnis blossoms at his head! :o

*g*.

Anyway, to follow topic, my opinion leans more towards simply RP-ing the situation, this doesn't seem like a very.... urgent... change.
