illarion is becoming adult thematic as in people cuss talk about what ever they want and people have no respect for themslefs or other people something needs to be done badly people cuss your head off some people are just crazy i think you should be banned for that , i try to tell people that but they say things like "its just a word" and the killer is "its roleplaying get used to it" peoplemake exuses like well dwaf are grumpy so they swear well people need to understand cussing i real its not fantasey i mean illarion staff stop worring about something and come on step up it wouldnt be that hard to put a filter in , or you die if you cuss i mean saying things like darn is ok but some poeple absulutely cuss your head off its outragous something needs to be done this is no joke and another thing is some people think that there areno kids playing this game, thats not true its so wrong and another exuse i something like keep your belifes and religous stuff to yourself , well cussing is not religous and i understand that you shouldnt push people into beliving things they dont agree with but its getting worse and worse its each day people lets get going i mean havent the gms noticed?? and people say dont tell people what to do i mean illarion needs rules  more than what you have its bad bad bad. illarion staff gms everyone you need to do Something and soon........

Well i'm going to have to agree you with you somewhat on your post. I, personally, havn't seeing people swearing constantly, but i do agree that it is not roleplaying nor is it appropriate as kids do play this game. Furthermore, in the era that the fantasy games are set at (usually medeival and such) people did not say words like S***, f*** ect. They swore, but not with words that we would call swearing today, use your imagination, think of something creative and non-offensive.

Illarion was always themed at the older, at least older teens through adults. The swearing will stop hopefully when the email approach and other safeguards are in place.

This game is recommended for ages 16+ to the best of my recollection to maintain a certain level of maturity. If you can't handle obsceneties or other mature themes you might want to look for another game. But I do understand your frustration when people use words like smile and shit which don't belong in medieval context. However words like damn and bastard are not unfitting.

Oh and would it kill you to please use periods when you're writing? I'm sure you're old enough to know that sentences end in periods.

By the way, if you're that elf who keeps on going around asking people who cussed but always gets the wrong person, you're EXTREMELY annoying.

another thing is i very supprised that i havent got any people that got very mad at me for writing this. another thing is people think that other  people should mind their own bussiness, well its not your own bussinuss when other people can hear well read what their saying they should just think that or whisper it to their friends, or something besides annouceing it to all the people around them

Or maybe YOU don't like hearing it. I can't really tell. But whatever the reason, it SHOULD be fixed (emphasizing SHOULD) in the next version.
Don't get your hopes too high, though.
Heres an idea: Make a proposal asking if there could be a text modifier where certain words will be ****'d out.
And read through your post before you click 'Submit'. See if YOU can read it, and if even YOU have difficulty, then how do you expect German-speaking people to read it??

Erdrick, that was very good of you to bring up. and other things about swearng, Modern words such as F-shots or the S word were not used widely, or maybe at all in those times. but Damn, and Bastard were.  (pardon my language if it offends anyone)

He has done that before most of the people who've replied in to this post had even been created, and this is the first time i've seen that someone is complaining about it to me...Or to anyone..

If we are being so medieval and stuff, I do truly believe that people did curse in those ages, also so it should fit into the "medieval athmosphere" without any problems.

I understand your opinion about such words as "s***" or "f***", but what's the matter with those other words, I just cannot understand.

Try to follow my thougt here for a second... When ye hear a word, You get a certain feeling out of it, whereas everyone else gets each their little feeling out of it. Yet you are the only one here who seems to get mental anguish out of it...

Most of these, I am sure, Would laugh at ye for what yer doin here... I know I would for one. However Some poeple would not. So in this "game" killing people is okay while cussing is wrong? So it's wrong for little children to play this game and hear cussing but it's alright for them to learn about stabbing your friend with a two handed sword?

Sure maybe cussing is bad but did you ever wonder why so many people around the world still cuss? This game isn't a kindergarten where you'll be protected from all the wrongs of the world. Illarion itself is a world, and just like the real medieval times or the real world, there are people who will cuss, regardless of whether you think it is morally right or wrong. If a little kid walks into the streets full of adults there's a good chance he might hear some obscenities, so if a kid decides he wants to go into Illarion,  he should be prepared to take that same risk. The only thing in appropirate about the cussing is if it's not in medieval context such as "smile" and "shit" which shouldn't be used, but words that do fit are "damn" and "bastard".

I hope you aren't under the impression that we're talking down to you, I can only speak for myself but that was not my intention.
Obviously you have moral (and apparently religious...) issues with profanity, so perhaps if it bothers you it really would be best to find another game. I only spoke with you briefly in the game (back when your name actually was Coolandrew, heh...) but you seemed relatively friendly and nice. So if you choose to leave, I'm sorry things didn't work out, but it's probably best.

I agree with Dyluck that the only problem I have with vulgarity in-game is that it often isn't appropriate for the rp setting.

One last note, I never said '9 hells' was cute, I said Cara was cute. The '9 hells' comment, I said, was creative.
