enchanted swords....

Maybe there could be a branch of magic where mages could cast a spell on a sword to make it enchanted with a certain element...or a druid could pour a certain solvent on it... thought they would have to work with the blacksmith, maybe only have a limited time to enchant it after its smithed?

i believe that is what you need to do with a fire sword but i am not quiet sure

but there should be multiple elements...and druids should be able to make a salve so they get to revel in smithing goodness 8)

the firesword (from what I nkow) is made by taking a certain sword, some coal, and a spell (not to be told ;) ) to make. I am not totally sure so dont go quoting me on this or anything.

Yes and by that time, when we'd have the m0oney for it *gasp* charwipe and no one has any idea how to do new things except for friends of gms

Pardon?

Such a situation will not occur. Everyone will have the same chance, as you might know, we are evil madmen and have no friends at all.

Back to the proposal, in principle I agree to it and such things are on our to do list.

Alright sorry  . I think that this is a god idea for a proposal ahnd that they should be made in the same way as the firesword currently is.

On a similar note....how about giving craftsmen a chance to produce master quality items which perform better or last longer?

Well i think after we got the system where the items got a "live" and you can't store 10345 Plates in your depot cause they will rust under your..well you know ;). How you think you could implete master quality items..give the smiths some more things to show like there could be "bags" where you select if you wanna make a low quality item or high ..hmm maybe than a master, who always uses low quality can't make a good high tool/weapon. I think we just should wait what our staff is already doing.

or maybe you should stop putting people down and leave your stupid comments on the test board where they'll be deleted and no one will have to be bugged by them

My idea was that you would add Master quality versions of items to the item tables. When an item is crafted an extra check would be made to see if the item made was normal or master quality. Using a similar basis to the current crafting system where the better your skill the better the chance of creating a master level item.
Breakage could be done by expanding the item table to include a breakage variable. Then the code changed so when an item is used instead of using a straight 1% chance of breakage the routine interrogates the table to find the items chance of breaking and use that. Obviously this does not mean every individual hammer, etc. will be different. All hammers will use the same tabkle entry, but it would mean that buckets could break less often than hammers for example.
That was the idea. Its up to the staff to decide what, if anything, to do with it.

I feel most of these new proposals are usless too. Think of something practical...not "cool".

Jeremy's idea is alright, though I think that other more important functions should be worked on first.

this wasnt about jeremyys idea in the first place. jeremy, make a topic about your idea. All of you are getting off topic, this was about enchanted swords...

What about axes, shields, daggers etc. Won't this give swords more of an advantage over other weapons? I think so, and as some races use different weapons it's only fair that they can have enchanted weapons too. Even though the fireaxe is already available, it's way to expensive compared with fireswords :!:

a double axe is stroinger than a firesword anyway isnt it?
