Illarion Newsletter

I have a question to any that know the answer. And it will be simple.
Has there ever been an active newsletter as the site has on it's link to the lower right or is there simply none that has ever been made before? It looks very intimidating to a new player who might like to hear about this game through it but it seems no one has ever received anything in their email from it (including me).
The link that it takes you to is the following.
http://illarion.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/news
It looks all formal and all and it does seem promising yet nothing happens. Is there a lack of staff in creating it?
Anyway thanks for reading this about my curiosity,
PO Grunith

I think I received a newsletter once, a long time ago about the release of one of the client versions, but that could have been a dream...
Anyway, I digress. A newsletter would be nice, but what would they include in it? It's not like there's a plethora of information that's new and testicle-grabbingly fascinating every day, is there? Granted, there's a lot of fascinating stuff going on in the game's roleplay, but as we're all aware, that's covered in the respective roleplay section.
Now, would be a good time for a newsletter, though, including details about this e.V thing, payment details specifically.
Anyway, that's my 2 cents.

I remember Illarion have a Yahoo Newsgroup called "Newmud" a long time ago (2 years?) but there was never sent any news...

Probably as oftenly employed as "GM ABUSE".

tse.. i wonder how you found that one already
this newsletter is not yet fully configured and thus wasn't made public yet (or it shouldn't be)
so, there will be news on the newsletter, when it's finished

Additionally, there once was a working newsletter some years ago.
We decided to recreate it actually. So, there will probably be a newsletter soon.

Maybe something that would add interest to the newsletter, beyond community news and Illarion Society billing information, would be columns made by various players.
These columns could range the gamut of "how to improve roleplay in illarion," "player driven quests 101," and "how to take over Northerot and impress people."
Sound fun?

that's not the scope of the newsletter.
though if you like things like that.. i still would like to see something like
www.tibianews.com for illarion... this form is far better suited for player-columns

though i don't need that for illarion

i rahter meant the articles about rumours, interviews with the staff to explain new features and similiar things

Or articles about "How To Deal With Your Addiction To Illarion:
The First Step Is Admitting You Have A Problem."

We should have a nice paper layout. But I think this is slowly turning into a proposal thing, and a damn good one

The setup for the newsletter is finished and I've sent the first newsletter.
If you like to subscribe visit

so how about finding someone who would be interested to be some kind of news-reporter?
i am sure he would get support if he tries to interview staff members on current developments f.e... it would surely help to keep the players more informed without adding to much work for the staff.

Well, considering Lysu suggested it, I suppose he's putting himself forward?

And I thought actual interview skills were needed. Meh, I may as well apply so I can ask the all important question:
"How much money do you make?"
