Hello,
I know little about programming, but I love to draw things and design things. If you could recomend some graphics programs, I would appreciate it. I would like to make graphics for you and all the hard working gm's. Please answer this Question.

Which Programs do I need?
How much are they?
Can I get them for free?
How can I help in any other ways?

                            Sincerely,
                                  Blackscales

well you asked for it..

-Lightwave
-Zbrush
-3d studio max
-blender (free online)

if you ask me I say use Zbrush, it is very user friendly, I use it myself and it creates wild faster
and good graphics. As for Lightwave well if you want exact proportions of a 3d model.. then use either this or 3d studio max.. but Lightwave's user interferance is really poor it may take time to learn how touse those buttons. Warning though they are all pretty pricy.. As for blender.. I havent really tried it out yet but hey its free!. There is that other program called "Poser4" it has this ready made 3d model with morphs....as for me I only morph or render my meshes there.....

Anyways I hope I helped you out.
bye bye

gaaah, sad. it's a great tool. Read in the other topics, in one of them i mentioned the 3D Canvas-page. It has a free version too.

sorry to say that, it may sound hart, but:
if you don't even know which tool to use (and if you don't have one already) you probably won't be a great help. learning to use 3d-software reqires a LOT of time, a lot of exercise and a lot of graphical skills/feeling. if you never worked with such a program and if you don't even know how and where to get them you are maybe able to do some simple graphics in the next year -- and you'll need a lot of time for it.

i don't want to hinder you from helping, i'd like to see much more help here, but it's like the suggestion of a nonswimmer to help building up a swimming team by swimming for them. of course, it *IS* possible, but its unlikely and it will need MUCH time.

I worked into blender when i had some free months... After one month, i was able to make little things like the hardleather armor graphics, with a lot of hints from martin. And they still were not made well, did not look good. I worked on these for a couple of days, until i found out several things with the help of several tutorials, and faq's, and playing with options and options.
3D Canvas is easier to use than blender. With it, you will be able to create several good looking simple things quite fast. It also allows bump mapping and multiple textures. But for using such things effectively, you MUST invest several hours into tutorials and several more into trials, trials, trials...
But after all this, the objects you make, will look great.
