couldnt produce wine

i had a problem producing wine yesterday..
as my character was told he gathered bottles and grapes..
he then moved to the wine-"fass" in the tavern and wanted to fill it up..
when i clicked on it it removed 1 bottle and 1 grape out of my bag but didnt give me anything back.. i tried it 30 times but always failed.. was quite an expensive venture.. now im wondering what i did wrong

(btw my char is an orc.. so im guessing that orcs cant brew wine.. but im not sure.. and before someone asks.. why should an orc need wine? simple.. to sell it
)

He is too stupid maybe? I heard mages cannot brew it.

he has an intelligence of 17.. so that cant be the problem
and he is not yet a mage.. he doesnt have magical skills yet since i dont find a trainer

mayeb it has to do with dexterity or something. maybe he's just bad at making wine. i wasn't sure though, is wine making considered a druid based skill? (of course asking after all this time)

I am unsure, but random of my chars can't make wine either...

It might have to do with baking or peasantry, because of the book "baker, winegrower, and brewer".

hm... no.
I would bet on Essence or Dexterity. Or both?
Noone of my chars apart from Caitlin can produce wine.
She never baked something, and even before she gets "druids-skills" she was able to make wine.

Similar problem:
I sacrificed an item to the SIJ guardian and he took it, but I never got a rune.
I know it can't have anything to do with low intelligence. It's all I've got going for me.

Not really a similar issue, it is a bug. They are having problems with the magic system.

I have no idea what it's based on. Characters with magic capabilities
can make wine, and also those who have neither peasentry/baking skills, there are a few ig I could count up.
Maybe you're just doing something wrong.

Maybe yes, you're doing something wrong, but I am pretty sure that the thing about attributes applied to the char affects mainly everything, including this one of making wine. Dexterity and essence and maybe something else is needed. Not sure ...
