Hey, decided this was more of a newbee then technical question

so, it is just me, but since the magic system change my mana has seemed...insuffitient
Everythign takes LOTs of mana, and i have talked with some other mages recently and they asy that a flame doesnt take over half their mana as mine does...Is that just me, or does the mana cost depend on skill?

My int. is maxed out, so i should have plenty of mana

I actualy doubt that your Int determines how much mana your character can "hold".
It merely discribes how , well ... , intelligent your character is.

I have read on the boards that mana consumption is based on your skill and the magical defence of your target.
So if you are good, and your target has a weak defense you wont use much mana for a spell.
On the other hand, if you are bad and your opponent has a firm defense you will burn you mana faster than wood to pot ash.

Thats why:
Pick weak/basic spells more often, they are not mana expensive and still can deal some damage.

The higher your intelligence, the less mana is required for casting spells. however if you only have 1 mana point, a spell costs 3 pts, your int is high so it is only 2, you still cannot cast it even though you have maximum int. Maybe your race has an negative on your offensive magic capabilities, and a plus to crafting magical objects?

i actualy have rather low skills for most spells, so that explains it

And don't forget that dwarves have a handicap on magic. We can never do magic as good as the other races,
