I don't think custom graphics are working for the new client.

That COULD be why I asked if anyone had upgraded them. Oh well, you Mods close this thread to conserve space, and if any of you Gfx makers have made them for this client PM me alright?

I know some ways you can sort of cheat with custom graphics, I think they have made it impossible to use custom graphics for this reason.

Gro'bul is right.
It is way to easy to cheat, get unfair advantages, when using custom made graphics.
I really hope that the updated client does no longer support bmp-replacements in the client folder.
And/Or some rule like:
"Altering, or using altered, client files will be punished."
Equal and fair play for all of us.

Yeah I had noticed some ways to find herb spots and stuff with replacement tiles, but I'm not a druid so that was REALLY useful

. Well then that answers my question entirely, no replacement gfx for me!

well, they changed the tiles for us to look slightly different, but still knowticable
All teh forest tiels look teh same, but each one has different items
Good work i say
Still, they didnt change the tile that has teh dessert sky capsul, wisch is erally annoying...

by Gro'bul
Thats sort of not fair because I like my potted flowers way better than those plants. Accually not all the forest tiles look the same, the one I made is used occasionally in there.

If you want to use your own graphics, you have to replace them in the EXE-file itself.
I won't give hints how to do that...

Instead of replacing graphics yourself I would really apreciate if you just state here which graphic you do not like and what your replacement would be.

I would like to see different graphics for the leather armors.
The current ones are perfect as light metal armor, but do not seem to be made of leather.

by martin
Yes, I know.
The problem was that, when I did the substitution, I had no really suitable graphic for a leather armor.

I would like to have the old Char-graphics back... I can't really see the difference between dwarfs and orcs etc.

I like the char graphics how they are, and i don't think the old ones would fit into this client. If you can't tell the difference between the orcs and dwarves then i think it is more of a problem with your eyes. The orcs are green and reasonably tall, and the dwarves are short and fat.

In this case, I only could find one reason for that:
You must be completely blind.
Sorry. I converted every graphic to greyscale to simulate a poor colorperception, and even given that, I was able to EASILY distinguish ALL characters immediatly.
You should probably try a text based game.

Rackere hat, soweit ich weiß, eine Sehschwäche bei roter Farbe.

That might be the case Nartak but as martin said it is still possible to work out which character models are which in greyscale. Also in my opinion it would be no reason to revert back to the old character models if one player has trouble with the colour red.

Uhhh I want different blood graphics.

The Blood. I would like to see new blood... Preferably my blood.
And I was really liking my "MASKE" that I made... especially for the invetory tiles.. i made them darker.
Uhhh... I liked Gro'bul's flowers those were cool.
I would like to comment that the current blood is off center...
Oh, i like my blood too feel free to use it.
That is all for right now.
Oh! Just kidding! What was wrong with the old town walls? I mean the ones surrounding the town. The Castle looking walls. What was wrong with them? why did you change them? I liked how they were thick, and didnt have green tops.
As for the Character graphics, im getting used to them. The only thing is that I wish they'd change the female human and female elfs.. they look.. odd.
(the female elf reminds me of a raggedy-ann doll for some reason... probably the hair, even though its not red, it looks like thick threads when it moves.. haha )

Perhaps somebody could give me the old client, I'll export and import the models on my own...
Because I almost can't see anything this way... By the way the theme R(ed)G(reen)B(lue)
I am redblind and greenpoor (right word?). I don't want to look at a character for ten seconds to recognize the race, or even the gender...
By the way: A colorblindness isn't really funny. And two colorblindnesses on one person is really mad! I only can decide between yellow and blue. All other colors are either yellow, blue, black, grey or even white...
The socalled "joke" to change to a textbased RPG is not that nice...
.-*-.-*-.-*-.-*-.-*-.-*-.-*-.-*-.-*-.-*-.-*

The characters are distinguishable ONLY by the outlines.
They have different size and form. You can, as I mentioned, distinguish them even if you don't see any color at all.
Whatever you are going to tell me, it does not have to do with your color blindnes.
Given the fact that around 8% of the male population are colorblind, there are probably more of them who play Illarion.
I am redblind and greenpoor (right word?). I don't want to look at a character for ten seconds to recognize the race, or even the gender...
This, however, is not connected to your color blindnes. They do not differ by color, they all wear the same and have (nearly) the same skin color. They vary in size and form.
By the way: A colorblindness isn't really funny. And two colorblindnesses on one person is really mad! I only can decide between yellow and blue. All other colors are either yellow, blue, black, grey or even white...
Red-green-weaknes makes 99% of all colorblinds.
This means that your colorblindnes is anything but special.
The socalled "joke" to change to a textbased RPG is not that nice...
This was not a joke. I was serious:
In forseeable time we will change to a client where you will not be able to change anything. You will have to give up Illarion then.

That could be right, but I ask again: can anybody give me the old client, I want to change it as long as I can...
By the way: the clothes look very similar to the ground... So I really have to look very longer than the "normal" persons... And: Color blindness in that hard way is not that often, ask in the Eye-hospital in the University clinic in magdeburg, where they tested me...

Perhaps when you've concentrated on a race for enough time to decipher which they are, Rackere, you could use the !name command, to make it much easier for you to see who is which race in future. Even compare against people who are present, and who's race you know. I can see this as a relatively simple way of overcoming your colour blindless, while playing Illarion.

Not liking the sand or Rock tiles..that and the blood
As well as some of the magic spells(i was using the original ones, not the new ones)

What do you mean the original ones?
