bror or anyone else , heres my proposal.
let us somehow see whos attacking me/someone else with arrows , its really annoying when u cant tell who's attacking you with ranged weapons.

so let us see where those stupid arrows came form...

It does seem strange that you cannot tell who fired a bow I would suggest that perhaps it would tell us the first time he started attacking and no more the problem is some people might spam people with it and i dont know anything about how that would work but it would be good if it could.

aye... we should see who is in attackmode...

humm,i think that wont be a great idea,i mean,u don't really see,if someone fires an arrow in ur back!I mean,that's not good,and not really a surprise than,if u die and u know who it was ;)no,i really think that it wont be a great idea to see it,cause u don't see if someone stands on a roof or something and shoots u!Thats not good i think!:cheesy:!and u don't really see,if someone is going to kill u,not even in attacking mode!u see it,when is going to attack u!

You do if its a big bow bow and most people dont even do it from the rooftops they just do it in crowds and things.

In the normal you need more then one arrow to kill a char. so the char can search the marksman. And he know the direction he must search. It shouldnt be the prob for the char to see the marksman before he die.

Catweazle...but the true problem is , that we cant even see when someone shoots us in front of us..

oh yes,but i think,its a problem with the gfx,i mean!you should see if someone wears a weapon,or a other position if hes in attacking mode!that would be ok!but,if u get shoot once,than you should watch for the shooter,and see if hes in attacking or not!

Why only the problems bis range weapons ?
If 9 people around you, you see also not who attacks you. You can only hear it that someone attacks you .

and in real, you can always see difference between a unarmed man, coming towards you, and a mushroom-crazed berzerk with a drewn sword running towards you...
it dont seem like that in illarion...
and of course you can see if a guy shoots you in real...
a good bow is quite big...

maybe if F12 or something said if they were in combat so that you would know oh and maybe who they were attacking?

n you should be able to see it at once, someone is attacking you...
and others should see who's attacking too

I plan to add a graphics for the attacker, like the bloodsplah for the defender when he is hit. Any ideas what kind of graphics?

A small blinking sword if he holds a one handed close distance weapon,
A small blinking "big" axe if he holds a two handed big thing,
a small blinking sphere when he holds a magic wand,
a small blinking arrow when he holds a distance weapon ?

Yeah,thats good!but,whats when he attacks?i mean,u can only see the weapon now,maybe,a cicle around the weapon,if hes in attacking mode!?

maybe the weapon turns red? or somesuch thing.

hohoho,very funny!i mean,its really a problem!i saw a newbie,that was killed 18times by a bow!or crossbow or so on!thats very hard!i mean,newbies come and get killed,after that they hate illarion!so,after that,they get killed ne time and after that u see the killer!

You misunderstand the idea.
The weapon signs only have to show up WHEN he attacks.

It takes 2 arrows to kill most anyone.

my suggestion is make thier name "number" flash red or the square the stand on flash

two hits? since when???? even with wind arrows most of the time a well armored person can stand more arrows.
