A proposal that I came up with after seeing a program on teh Tv.

A low skilled mage, needs to wave his hands to cast a spell (Cant use 2 shields got to have one hand free).

A medium skilled mage, talks out the words, and when casting you cant move or anything else, since you are focusing at casting the spell.

A high skilled mage, dont need to say or do anything. He just thinks the spell, and other players dont see anything. Maybe other people shall see who casts the spell, but not being spammed by it. And they can fight and hit things while casting.

Just an idea.


And one other proposal.

I dont want to look like an elf, that wears a bow and green clothes.
maybe somehow it should be possible to change looks. You look like the armors you were.
Or, you can design your own graphic to your character.

If YOU manage to redesign your character, and it really looks good, then start creating different chars if it is possible to use them. But it is a lot of work to make character pictures.

Instead of showing what the people wear, an easier way later would be, for example, different outfits for the races and genders, with different clothings and armors so you can choose one of five or something like that, perhaps with aditional color differences. But that still needs lots of graphics (one single character graphic has 16 pictures!). As you can see, that would be very much work with professional software (else the different movement scenes don't fit ! ).
Since the Graphic artists in Illarion are either players or GMs, who all have other things to do to earn a living or to learn, for example. This game is in alpha stage of development and it is not made by a company. That is why it is not planned for now to use different character looks. For now, it would take too much time and too much work.

Could we use a paint-program to replace the "Green" to "Blue" on all 16?
If so then I can help Martin (finally)
I just need to get a screenshot here and there, cut it out, save 16 files,
Change color, then send files to Martin.
Then on char select you can select blue or green elves.
Cool, huh? I'll try it, since I have nothing to do, really.

@Tal: Hey, those mage ideas are neat but...
They can be used for bad purposes and that takes some programming 2 do...

Everything takes programming to do.. just that some things are more worth it and some not.
Im talking about the first proposal..

It would be annoying as it would not make sense for powerful spells to be cast as easily as weak spells even considering that a person might be a master mage.

huh?if a mage is very good,he shouldn't needs his hands for casting spells!Trash's idea is very good!but the thing with the cloth is too hard at the moment to manage,there are lots of other things to manage first!

but think about the powerful rituals! even master mages needed to have their full concentration on the spell! otherwise the consequences could be fatal. Oh and by the way I am a philosopher on the ways of magic I often get into arguments even when I don't mean to, sorry

Hm.....I think,a good mage should  use hard spells like "hept kel" or "ra kel qwan"
and weak mages can only do spells like "ra pen" or "cun jus"

Yep someday there will be quests to get the spellbooks you won't be able to buy them.

hey hey i was just passing by this post and the thing that trash wants heyhey trash lol wants is to make his spells more powerfuller to destroy town ppl (he seems to like makiong ice fields infront of the shop) then killing all who tell him not to cast

Sean,if he trained a lot,and if he is evil,so he should be able to kill ppl with a powerful spell!
