Skill learning - Other way to restrict "I can all" players

Hi

Ive wrote an idea about an other learning time for professions. But this was in a topic and noone replied. So I write it again in a new topic:

In higher levels the char can decide to learn smithing better weapons or better armors (professions Armorer and Armorsmith). The same procedure for carpenter. I also think, that it must be a hardship to learn more professions. For example the first profession you can learn normal. For the second you need the double time to reach the same level. For the third you need the four time and so on. This should be for different producing professions like blacksmithing, carpentry and food making. Mage, druid and warrior skills should handle similiar between each other, but only with a small comparing to the producing professions. So a char who want only be a mage and warrior learn easier than a blacksmith who would also learn mage and warrior skills. Similarly professions like the different smithing forms or new different carpentry professions should not be effected so hard.
At a special point, the char need days to learn a little bit more, because he want to be a magewarrior with his selfmade armor, magestaff, rings and cape, and is baking bread by himself.

Bye

Yes, that is what i too think would make sense. But until we have professions, different other stuff must be progged.

In fact it's much too easy to raise your skills. I mean there should be a difference between a char that is some month old and one that was created 3 days ago, don't you think so?

Hey Erdrick!

I thought you are a merchant. For what do you need craftman skills? My system is meant to all char that learn skills they dont need to play their role. Who would buy smithed items of you, if all can smith their stuff by theirself? Think about it.

yes... it seems that most newbies are very strong...
for some reson...
stronger than me... (like the one that started  the fight with the orcs)

there should be a thing so that
after being on a while... you can train a new skill
like life experience

Hey, merchants need skills too.
And the name Erdrick is a Knight's name, so

@Erdrick:
Then learn weapons skills and one craftmans skill, so it isnt the prob, if you have read my starting text. What I dont want are players, who can all craftmans skills, all fighting skills and be mage or druid and this all perfect. Its not realistic. And it should be need more time. If all need a longer time to learn, nobody gains a advantage or disadvantage. You not also.

Is that clear?
