Dreams

Irania flew.....only in her dreams of course....but she did fly. And here she was now, gliding over the water, skimming the top with her toes, leaving ripples to expand and make their way to the edge of land. Breathing the salty air into her lungs, Irania came to a stop, allowing her body to dangle in the air freely as though to rest her invisible wings.
"Goddess, these changes...what do they mean?" Her voice was desperate but Ira recieved no answer. "I do not understand what is happening to me! Why can I not control this?" The moist air lacked any breeze, and still she got no response.
The minutes turned to hours as she floated there, above the sea praying to the nothingness around her until the waters stirred. Only slightly at first, but growing more furious each second. Irania looked down to see the beginnings of a whirlpool that in seconds would be strong enough to suck in everything for miles. In an attempt to get to safety Irania clawed at the air to fly away yet became aware that the more she struggled, the closer she came to the deadly sea that beckoned to take her....
"I have been nothing but faithful to you!" Her voice came out hoarse and quiet. One more time she screamed to her Goddess, who apparently would not come to her aide, but the sound was but a mere whisper in the night air. The only sound to be heard was the rush of air and water being sucked below the surface of the earth, and Irania with it.
Coming to from her dream gasping for breath, Irania looked about her in terror. All she saw was a wall before her, the shop wall. Realizing that she must have fallen asleep by the depot Irania stood and walked from the building with no thoughts at all, just a feeling of dread.
