Nanuk has created a map for Illarion. This is a proposal and it may still be changed, but I already like it. This is of course no the map you see in the game right now.

I don't think you should make that the next map... not enough players!
There will be so little interaction, especially with the e-mail system.
There will be, what? 10 players at a time at most, maybe? Spread across a giant map?
I will get easily lost, very easily lost.
But it's up to you, I suppose... <sigh>

I love this map... i like the idea that every race has its own territory, thou i hasn't have to last for ever... yesterday i was thinking of a story for the southern lands with skeletons (on actual map), i was thinking that it could be an elf land once then taken over by a necromancer with his skeleton army ;-) /just a legend/

I feel like the actual map is too small... i would put about 1 town in each territory for a start (different prices, different raw matierials, different level of danger, differ them a lot to make the world attractive), a town apropriate and shaped for the way of each race... Like halfings, or goblins or orks could live underground in caves... (sorry if i misplaced any race, i'm not that good in knowing races habits) and for example elves or fairies could live in trees (up one "floor") /maybe i wonder to much, but after all this is a never ending development of this game which is great/

On such a map there are many places which i would make very difficult to reach, a bit special places with the most rare gems, herbs, other raw materials, they could be "guarded" by very difficult monsters... etc. etc. it would be intersting, and the economy would vary more from it... i find economy a bit flat in the actual world... prices dont differ from place to place, and i just became a Wanderer merchant lately, i need several town to travel between and trade ;-) not just by producing but also by buy the same thing cheap in once place (where its for example easy to get) and sell expensive in another (where the thing is hard or impossible to get)...

The big map is great...

And im sure there where be more and more player over time... i see on the stats that there are already more every day... and if the world is bigger and more attractive it will bring us many new players, since many newbies find the world small... I think we should do something bigger so its prepared to be filled with more players... if we dont there will never be more player then say 60-70 each day in next months...

Hope i didn't write too much since this is not the proposal board ;-)

oh, i looked at the map once again...

as i said i would vary the raw materials, herbs and other natural resources from territory to territory, it would greatly improve the economy, because with this new map i assume that every race is able to get every natural resource which will make the economy flat...

The maps great but then wouldn't you have to add in boats and give some races the ability to swim or fly?

@Likwid, what kind of changes do you mean? why the gods dont like it?

speaking of changes:
- make more individual territiories, meaning the resources, like for elves: mainly trees and not many other resources (a few randomly chosen), for human ie grassland and some mining (and again not many other types of places), for dwarf mainly mines, and so on, and so on...
... i would differ the lands because its a natural thing that every race chosen apropriate territory to live a long time ago, like thousands of years ago...
- especially too many minings there are... even on every island - why put a mining on fairies land? i think fairies are rather non-blacksmiths and would choose a calm and quite place to live...
- another reason is economy, i spoken about that already...

i dont know if i would change anything else... rather not since i like this map... when implemented i would put stronger monsters between a few territories, like skeletons or ogres, and even stronger in some places... now its to "flat" that every more difficult monster (i exclude spiders, pink skellies, demons etc from this) are put on the edge of the map... i think it would be interesting when if you have to pass from one territory to another it would be dangerous... after all the borders of the races' lands created naturally for hundreds of years... (lake, danger, mountains, swamps etc)

i also have a question - how much bigger is this map from the actual one? 2 times? 3 times?

@ Teesh: the actual map is the iland in the left upper corner (with some changes, e.g. desert)

This map from Bror could be seen on http://www.moonsilver.de until the last change of the side was made.

@Nanuk:
What happened to this map on the moonsilver website?  I don't see it there anymore.  Oh well, I still got a map to the concert.

If the map is supposed to be in English, then you should correct minor misspellings such as "Orks" to "Orcs" because it is spelled with a 'C' in English, not a 'K'
And down near the goblins, Is it 'Dar Nar'? Or 'Dak Nar'? Or 'Dap Nar'?

@Astral
At the moment I do not know if this map is really the future map of Illarion. The present world is the smaller continent in the upper left corner of the map. What will happen if the existing world is extended is still not decided.

@Erdrick
I hate spelling ;) and it is called Dae'Nar.

What would be good would be if there were certain places that only certain races could get to. For example, there could be an inderground city/mine for the dwarves and a tree city for the elves.

This is such an old post, i only brought it back to now because it was interesting. The whole point of having race only cities is that city would provide a certain level of security for players of a certain race. There could also be people who are elected as rulers of a certain city/village.

And by the way stop messaging bror, game moderators are not the best people to make enimies with.

By the way, I think this game is recommended for ages 16+ to reduce problems with players being immature instead of roleplaying.

Just thought I'd mention this because you sound pretty young.
