........Thalodos had been very much aware of the shadowy figure lurking in the darkened trees a little over a few hundred steps behind him. He knew it was Garlock, Commander of the orcandish armies to the south. Thalodos knew that the time would eventually come to face his foe. He began his path towards the top of a mountain, overlooking the candle-lit streets of Troll's bane.
There, he waited for his uninvited companion to catch up with him. He drew his short fireblade, forged as a gift by Konstantin and kissed the blade. He deposited it back into it's sheath and withdrew his bow, he gently slid an arrow from it's pouch and fixed it into place. Then he waited.
A distant shout echoed from the villiage below him breaking the deathly silence, yet Thalodos remained undeterred. suddenly his eyes lit up and he fired an arrow into a nearby bush. A bloody Scream erupted and a large orcs appeared from the bushes. As quick as lightning Thalodos withdrew another arrow and fired it into the orcs leg. Garlock let out another scream of pain, before withdrawing his axe and charging at Thalodos.
Thalodos abandoned his bow and dived from the path of the orc who swang his axe wildly. Garlock let out a shout of rage and threw his axe at Thalodos, It hit his left hand striking it clean from his arm. Thalodos screamed and tried to stagger to his feet. Garlock ran to the wounded elf and kicked him hard in the stomach, Thalodos flew a feet feet in the air before landing with an earthy thud.
He withdrew his blade and staggered to Garlock. After several seconds of combat Thalodos made a swing for Garlock. He missed, Garlock raised his axe and cut Thalodos across the back. Thalodos turned round and grabbed the orc, who flung him away towards the cliff edge. The elf fell a few feet away from the edge the orc made another run for him but Thalodos grabbed the orc by the throat and pushed him towards the edge. With a sickening scream, Garlock fell to his death, landing in the villiage below.
Thalodos collapsed on the floor....
