Dair's testimony:
I was walking out the southern gate of town, When Kasume and a few orcs were there and the orcs wanted to talk to Kasume which they said numerous times. I continued to walk out the gate because it was none of my business, When Kasume started to push me back into town. Then all of the sudden he started to attack me with one of his weapons, He killed me quite easily since I was unarmed and had no armor on.

Notice how his testimony is so short. Erm, here is what I say though.
As usual I hunted the little theif which I did report to Lyrenzia yet Lyrenzia never responded on the trial. It started when I saw him in the forest. I basically chased him off the road and into the woods. I didn't feel like chasing the little scoundral because I knew I would never catch up to him. Almost minutes later he came running into town yelling my name and calling me a "coward." Told me to come outside. Obviously he was planning something, yet I did not know what at the time. So to be safe, I grabbed my armour and equipment. Immediatly exiting the south entrance three orcs block the gate and Grunith said he wanted to talk to me. The subject I will not mention fore it has nothing to do with the matter. It became a struggle matter. I wanted to get back into town. Dair was behind Grunith with his usual grin as I struggled trying to get away. Dair must have seen me getting close to slipping away so he slid himself into the entrance. He was just standing there in my way of me escaping the orcs. He wouldn't move no matter what I tried. So, I did the unthinkable, I attacked him. I disposed of him fairly quickly and I was able to get away. The orcs chased me to the Tavern and I stopped at the depot. Dair had led me into Bloodskull's trap. I was yelling and ranting that they cannot trust Dair. He is a Treeshadow. Exact terms as I know of this is what one of the orcs said "Yub, he insider for Bloodskulls." Obviously the fact that I hated Dair and I forever hunted him outside of town bugged the Bloodskulls. So Dair used that against me to lure me into a trap of the Bloodskulls.
I admit that I killed Dair. If that alone will jail me. Than so be it.
Although if a response of my theft report was given, I would not want revenge on the little halfling so much.

You forget you had already taken revenge for that false accusation. So that time was not revenge just pure blood lust.

I'm not going to get into a stupid fight like we always do Dair. You were in my way. Helping the orcs kill me.
According to you exactly, you had all reason to help the orcs get me killed because of this so called revenge that I have gotten from you previously. This would lead on to a forever hatred. If it was a bloodlust, I would not have asked you to move before I attacked.

When you're about to be killed, you tend to not think of manners.

Manners are very important. And I recall the orcs saying they wished to talk not fight.

If they just wanted to "talk" they would have been just glad to "talk" outside. Don't defend the orcs. Defend yourself.
You're digging yourself a hole Dair.

Ive witnessed the two always chasing each other, calling each other "Theif" and "Murderer" and things like that.
I do not think this is something Lyrenzia should trial, I think that this is something for them to handle on their own.

Maybe you should leave the war up to the two sides!

If lyrenzia doesnt handle it. Then it will be required for me to handle it, although I do not wish to get blood on my hands, if that is what is required to stop this madness so be it.

To let you know, if Lyrenzia find him not guilty yet you decide kill him yourself, it will be seen as murder without reason in their eyes and you will be liable to be punished by them. Kasume says he did kill you, but only because you were blocking his escape from the orcs. Now I wasn't there so I can't say that the orcs tried to attack him or not, but if you were led to a group of unfamiliar orcs and your path to town was blocked, wouldn't you feel paranoid? It's certainly no excuse to kill you unless you attacked him. I know Kasume, and I understand he was having trouble with some orcs that wanted to kill him not so long ago, so under the circumstances I would understand he might feel paranoid.

A note in elven script is posted on the wall.
I am certain that if you kill Kasume outside of town, Mister Dair, Lyrenzia will not be what you have to fear. It will be Kasume's friends that will haunt your dreams and slit your throat. You "staining your hands with blood" will only result in your own blood tainting the forest floor.

The council made its judgement.
The trial ends without a verdict.
Case closed.
