Cain, stop twisting words.

Before I really do insult you and risk a ban, but i'm sure it would be worth the few days.

By the way,

Threats, threats, and more threats. That's all you're full of.

.hack was .crap

Yeah... clever. Almost broke into a slight grin.

Yes, that was very helpful, putting a paragraph of text in German....

Na, da bin ich aber froh, dass du das genauso siehst wie ich, Rynt.

Es tut mir leid, Falk. Ich werde versuchen besser Deutsch zu lernen.

Why does your brain explode? Because of some silly german sentences? This was just what I was writing about. I am sick of trying to understand your peolpes slang injurities. I was just telling, that if you don't stop spamming english slang I will stop trying to use something else then my own mother tongue. I await a kind of conversation that lets foreigner like me understand what you are talking about. There are lots of german people that do hardly understand English. But they will be completely out of conversation when you use incorrect forms, a lot of idioms or slang.

That was what I was saying.

Why would they care what they are saying if it is only spam anyways?

Implode, not explode.

.hack is .crap is not slang. Read sentence. Understand.

If you are sick of us, please, tell us, and I'm sure a large part of the Illarion community will be pleased to change their ways on a whim.

And you know what? I learned Welsh before I learned English, so before you go all bitchy about your mother tounge, think about the fact that there are people from other countries, apart from Germany and English speaking countries, whose mother tounge is not English or German.

It would seem inconsiderate to use words they don't understand, especially if you are talking about something they do for you, ie. The quests they do.

Cain... this is not a 'flame' (How I hate that stupid term) just a question, but... were you not going to leave?

Posted: Tue Feb 10, 2004 9:45 pm
by Cain Freemont
I was, yes, but a couple of people who wanted me to stay persuaded me to do so. I still question whether or not I should leave. Doesn't matter though.

The disrespect on this post is striking, had i any "suck up" powers or "gm abilities" or "admin controls"

Several people would be gone right now.

However I dont

So I will now join cain in pondering if I should continue with this insanity any longer.

i think a gm should lock this since both returner and cain are getting into a bloody thread fight....

Nothing to stop them from continuing it in a new thread though.

It strikes me that for a game that has entrance tests to ensure the "right kind of person" is playing, the boards are controlled surprisingly liberally. Perhaps a few people should be grateful for that...

You can smith gold ingots into gold items, you just need to figure out how to do it. It isn't that hard. If you can figure out how to make ingots without anyone telling you, you shouldn't have any trouble trying to find out how to goldsmith.

One gold item need one ingot, no-one pays more than an ingot for anything gold anyway and they could just make it themselves. If you fail to make something you only lose the coal and not the ingot. I guess what happens is that when you fail to smith the item, the gold is melted back into an ingot. It does make sense, but it lessens the demand and prophit for gold items.

EDIT: WTF? I posted mine after Pronon and yet it appears before! I only edited this to tell you that my post should be in answer to Pronon's.

This helping the economy stuff is a load of bull. The economy was much healthier before all of this Drought, and changing of skills. Now trading is rare. I used to go to that depot near the mill and see trades constantly being made. No I can't sell one potion of any kind! I would buy herbs, bottles, and I would also sell herb and potions. Now everyone works for themselves. No one wants my herbs I get more an more and more but since no one sells me bottles They just collect. And whats this about Ingots? Makeing them? In real life this would be Forgery and you would'nt need exactly 250 coins you could cheat people and use fewr, use impure gold with rocks to weigh more. I don't know where to get coal I'm a hobbit! I won't trust my money with someone else to make ingots. I just keep huge pockets full of change. My depot has maybe 15 squares of 250 coins. It makes a huge mess. How does not buying Ingots help the economy? It's like me welding 100 pennys together to make a dollar. I can perhaps see how you want it to help, by makeing people buying coal, but I'm not going to spend money on coal to make an ingot. And if Gold coins can make a Golden ingot why can't I make a crown or golden goblet out of these?

You only create changes for the worst. In real life there are things that make certain work EASIER. But I don't think that that word is in you vocabulary.

Things are flucked, and there is nothing we can do about it anymore Pronon. *sigh* The GMs have stopped listening to me, and the people who are supportive of even the GMs' mistakes are not paying attention. I suppose you cannot change someone's mind when their ears are covered and their eyes are shut.

---------------------------------------------------

The translation isn't perfect.. but here's my post in german:

Dinge sind in Verwirrung gebracht, und es gibt nichts, das wir um es mehr Pronon machen können. *Seufzer* Der GMs hat aufgehalten, mir zuzuhören, und die Leute, die unterstützlich von sogar den GMs sind,' Fehler zahlen nicht Aufmerksamkeit. Ich nehme an, daß Sie jemandes nicht ändern können, bedenkt, wenn ihre Ohren bedeckt sind, und ihre Augen sind geschlossen.

ya don't make coins. ya melt coins or nuggets into gold. that is something different. ya can get coins just from eliza. that is no forgery. but ya are true. too many guys do all alone. i don't want to know how many peoples who are grandmaster carpenter AND smiths AND druis AND Tailors AND... well, running around in illarion. ya cannot buy ore and coal, because everyone use it for his own. ya cannot buy raw gems, because everyone is a gemcutter. ya cannot sell herbs because everyone is collecting herbs on his own. my charakter for example is grandmaster of smithery, grandmaster of mining, a specialist in goldsmithing and i don't know what but very good in gemcutting. see, the only professions he is good in are the smithprofessions. i don't want him to be a carpenter, because he is no carpenter. i don't want to be him a tailor, because he is no tailor. i don't mine with him very often, because he is a grandmaster. and grandmasters don't mine often. he buys his ore and coal (well, of course a dwarf mine even as a grandmaster very often, but not too often). i MUST dig for rawgems, because noone sells them. the problem is, too many charakters have too many different jobs. if i need wood for tools or axes or anything, i don't walk into the forrest and lumberjack it. i buy it from lumberjacks.

@pronon
galim would buy manapotions ;) . and if ya want to melt ya coins, ask galim, or any other smiths or goldsmiths. of course, it would cost ya something. but at the end ya will have much more room in ya chest. and galim just takes 5 gold for the work and 3 gold for the coal for each melted ingot ;).

I can't sell mana potions, no Magic. These quests allways have a negative affect. Couldn't these earth quakes unearth some vein of gold and Trollsbane has a gold rush? or A new metal is discoverd. something with a positive affect rather than screwing mages or messing up some other persons job?

Indeed, there is still magic.

With some pretty powerful spells, too.

I like this new system. So now, at least not everybody knows how to cast the most powerful spells in a day. And, it is impossible to use that cheap tactic of two shielding your character with top of the line armor while casting, remaining invincible.

Thank you gm's for changing the whole magic system. Since my character's entire defense and fighting ability is based upon this system, you have now enabled me to get my ass kicked from everyone now instead of only half the people. Guess I should start powergamming out by the mummies like everyone else. Thanks again.

Holy God, many of us had drawbacks because of technical changes in the past. Don't be so egoistic to complain because you can't play on as you used to. A good roleplayer should be able to adapt to changing situations instead of complaining. The game staff does indeed think about what they do.
Hmpf.

I guess Im wrong......I cannot powergame with the mummies because they kick my ass too. Yes, I should be able to carry on...but carrying on has already strained me beyond belief, and now making my character as harmless as a fly.....I just have no more willpower to drag through it. Its not that I do not want to do it....although I dont....Its just that I refuse. Hell, I vote we make everyone on the island as weak as cvan be except for the monsters...and let that play out for...oh..MONTHS.....making them all live in the city, unable to leave in fear of death and unable to fight each other.
