Yes. The owner just has to be far away from the cow ( around 7 tiles )

And if they cannot be attacked....could some exploit this by using it as a shield from other NPC's...?

Ok, somthing is really wrong with your script here.

me: Follow me
cow does nothing
me: Move
me:follow me
cow does nothing
me: "Move" "follow me" "move" "follow me" "move" "follow me"
Cow follows, but comp freezes
me relog, and cow is now following, but it has duplicated.

Ehm, thing is this is really messed up.

Oh, and it kind of looses its point as you can not bring it out of Bane. if you try it stops in the gate entrance, potentially locking you out.

Last I looked there were still 3-4 cows in greenbriar near the workshop from the freezes also......
a couple of things noted:

The cow seems to be able to only leave one gate of trolls bane
The "duplicate" cows can not be attacked or killed
every time there is a freeze, there is another duplicate
occasionally when first logging back in the cow will look like a bandit for a few seconds (at least to two PO's)
The cow can not go on steps or through a portal ( and haven't tried the teleporter )
If there is something to go around, or a difficulty following the cow will Moo :wink:

The duplicate cows can not be given commands either, but that is okay I suposse.
Also it appears if the cow changes owner, the old owner will get a working duplicate next time he relogs.
My cow also looks like a bandit at first.

Lol i told my cow to stay in trolls bane, i went by the grey rose, relogged, and the cow logged in with me.

Well I had a cow next to the gnoll forest and when I came back he was gone. How many tiles away do you have to be and what duration of time will it take for the cow to get lost (disappear)? Also if you are making the cows to force crafters and other characters to move along the highways something has to be done about this.


Say I rent a cow in Trolls Bane 250 copper (collateral and cost to rent) then I load the cow up but then go right back to the merchant and return the cow. That is 50 copper out of pocket yes? But if being completely robbed or ghosted is the risk to walking to Greenbriar I believe wealthier crafters will spend the extra 130 copper to travel by portal (city portal not book) and rent another cow in greenbriar and get all there stuff they packed on the Trolls Bane cow. I suggest that each town has there own separate cow (depot) that way if you rent a cow in Greenbriar that is the only place you can pick that cow (depot) up from. Because otherwise you not eliminating the TB depot in other towns at all you are making it portable :wink: .

No one said he could. Read the amount of coins he said it would take to teleport a cow then think about the cost of the transporter.

Ich habe gemeinsam mit meiner Else (der Kuh) ausgeloggt. Bisher klappte es auch, dass sie mit mir wieder eingeloggt ist, zwar bis zu meiner ersten Bewegung als Mensch... aber egal.

Gerade eben allerdings als ich eingeloggt bin, stand ich alleine da. Ohne Mensch/Kuh und ohne die Waren.

Was ist passiert und was kann ich tun?

I have been using the cows quite a lot over the last few days. No you do not lose your items if you return the cow, nor do you when the cow becomes lost and you have rent another, nor does it if you rent a cow in Trolls Bane pack it with all your items then return it and go to Greenbriar and rent a cow there your items will be in the depot of the cow you got in GB. This is why I said the devs have not eliminated the TB depot they have only made it portable

As for taking the teleporters I believe if you read the thread instead of just posting you would understand that Lennier and the gms have discussed eliminating the TB depots in all the cities so that merchants would have to travel the roads with the pack animals to transport their goods from one city to the next. So the city teleporters, books, and magic will not allow pack animals.

Als der Server sich heute mittag verabschiedet hat, war ich mit
einem Lasttier in der Mine von Varshikar.

Nachdem der Server wieder läuft, logge ich mich ein und finde
mich im Mietstall von Varshikar wieder. Keine Kuh zu sehen, aber
das Geld was ich dafür im Gürtel hatte ist auch weg.

Kuh ist weder in der Mine zu finden wo sie war noch in der Nähe
des Stalls. Eine erneute Ausleihe scheitert an der angeblichen
bereits vorhandenen Kuh, eine Rückgabe scheitert am Nichtvorhandensein
der Kuh.

Kuh weg, Geld weg, keine weitere Ausleihe möglich :(

Because there was not enough time with a server running running smooth
enough to move the assets securely and as you may see the pack animals
have still some severe bugs too.

Vilarion is doing a update now. After this update the cows are active again. Someone should try to get such a cow and give some feedback after if it works or not.
