Just another pic, by Cassandra, showing that not only we have new graphics and everything, but also that the client not only runs under windows but also under linux:

Seems, the new client looks great and will outbeat the old one technically. I feel the urge to test it right now.... *drools*

Will the new client also be able to run in a window on the desktop, rather than being fullscreen, or is that just some test thing you're doing there?

The new client can run in a window as well as fullscreen. You can switch between both modes with the F11 key while playing.

any idea what the system requirements are yet? just want to know if I need a new computer before then.

by Nop
We are still testing the client on different systems, so it is not final. The requirements might look something like this:

- 400 MHz CPU
- 256MB RAM
- Windows 2k, XP or Linux
- Java 1.5 RTE installed
- openGL 1.1 installed
- graphics card with 32MB
- up-to-date drivers supporting openGL

*Faints*

Could we have a nice "low graphics mode" for all of us with old machines?

Posted: Wed Oct 19, 2005 7:29 pm
by Nop
We have a low graphics mode and the number is just a guestimate.

But just how old is your machine when 400 MHz is that much? :-)

HA! Mine's 366 mhz!

Guess I will have to get a new one before the new client. Any ideas as to how long I have? I mean nothing too specific, just if it looks like it will be out before christmas.
