Incase you havent noticed, alot of people are currently annouyed at the games status
Such has always been the way,
New players,
Every day i see a
new player and i make an effort to help them when possible.
Noob is some 133 speak term for people who simply are not "cool or skilled" enough to play a game in the established groups eyes.
Yes we can be a little prone to playing in our own little circles how ever a new player is always welcome here, if they have some concept of what rp is

. Occasionally Zamorak type people sneak through and that becomes the problem.
He said She said:
It is increasing in the ammount of OOC complaints that each person recieves. Whether it is stat based, or forced rp, it seems that you cant RP without filling out a form exsplaining every point of view avialable
.
This will always be the case when we have a group of players all trying to play the game at such a high standard with passion and energy. Simply put its a comm full of talented role players. Basically it is understandable we all think we know a better way, to do things. How ever that is not a major issue in the community it comes in waves, we have more or less OOC arguements depending on the rp and mood in game day to day simple.

I'm new to Illarion, yet I've been doing internet rping (wresstling e-federations, white wolf larping, a LARP using boffer weapons, table top D&D/Wheel of Time/White WOlf) for atleast 7 years now. I surprised a PO when I told her I was new after she Rp'd with me. I'd just like to point that out, so that people are not disposed to think that new players arre always bad rp'ers to start.

That was me. Yes, this 'newb' impresses me
EDIT: Why would I be embarrassed not to be exclusive and snotty and think that only the old players can RP? I'm still practivally a newb myself, only a bit over 3 months

What i liked about the spider quest and dragon quests:
Spider quest: The spider was already known to others, so the Veterans of the game could tell us stories of what happened, also there were some who seemed to know what was going on.
Dragon quest: Sepearation, some where asking to kill him, some were stopping them and there was just plain panic... Very original
With other quests there isn't enough sepearation between players, for example in the Lich quest; ALMOST EVERYONE was on the 'good' side, while the synode inactivly supported him

Yeh...maybe there should be quests only ppl of one race can do~
Of course this will be for all the races. But I think we must enforce the race-serparation a little to bring more people into the actual towns.Maybe some powerful bad guys that deny the entrance to cities of other races without special permission~
I dont know...would be cool^^

Nice!
Would you like to see more quests with old villains and NPCs, so a similar sort of roleplay could be repeated in the future?

I'd like that idea because people wont go "Oh look a large golem/dragon/spider/scorpion" but more likely "What's that?" "Is that ****?; i thought they killed him?" ect...
More sinister.. and i have a better idea.. if you could create a form of long quest, where someone is just killing innocents to resurrect the dead evil... would be a good reason why everything is just coming back...

There is a good reason why things are coming back! I just haven't got around to a quest that explains why yet...

the last spider quest was, sorry< to say that, shit!
Even the players playing hurt ones in the inn got again attacked and killed by spiders, thats not fun. you play a wounded one and puff, again cloud. and than all the new players, runnign around, leading the spiders to other players, wait until they got killed and taking their stuff, thats again shit.
today was a day which made no fun. the whole quest was just annoying.

I have to agree here.
I would wish if the GM would take a look onto the online list the next time for spawning monsters. Mostly warrior are known and today there was no single warrior ingame for such a quest.
No problem with that, but the problem was that there were definately *too* much spiders.
And hunting the people who were running / hiding wasn't a good idea either. With the spider which was played by the gm, it was nice. But how shall we defend spiders when no single warrior was around?
And even at the point as some warrior were around, it was quite too much. Those spiders are more than deadly and impossible for only person with average fighting skills to take.
I was writing a !gm message to talk with the GM who spawned the monsters himself, but I was obviously too late, since I got no response.
Today died too many
chars for my taste, above all not only one time but 2 - 3 times. That was unnecessary, especially when we get no chance to solve it in another way. I'm not much a friend of hack'n'slay.

I hope only the characters died. It would be a great loss if someone dies while playing Illarion.

I heard now Capus told to an other player that he will lure the spider into pendars room. What he did, at the end, because the peoples there, Pendar and Shandariel, got killed by it. And Taht while they were roleplaying there the birth of caitlins baby...that really was something worse a kick in his...well...you know what I mean.

I only caught the back end of the quest, enough of the back end to die.
I have spoken in favour of the monsters being more dangerous, how ever the problem today was the sheer amount of spiders.
What tore it for me was some hour or so later a spider was led into the Inn which killed me again

.
I really dont think spiders can or should be left to roam free, as its not a monster you can be hit by and run as there bite is fatal. I have a relatively high constitution and unable to get an antidote, which if it is like old sever usually dont work. I died despite drinking 7 healing potions.
Now i cant imagine anything more disheartening for a new player than being killed by something so powerful before you know the game.
The spiders are the other side of my complaint that monsters were weak as Pendar who was "died a lot recently

" one of the more skilled warriors is lightly to die faceing them.
I have no problem with them being used and again welcome the threat and challenge of death. How ever they should be a controled spawned in less numbers and GM pulling there strings.
I lay at the cross for a time rping being near death and i watched an unknowen player come, reserruct leave only to return
as a cloud moment later. He then logged out.
Edit to clarify
My point here was that the player could not move or leave the cross with out dieing. Some one was kind enough to point out it sounded like i was bemoaning the players rp. Which was great under the circumstances. Infact on the whole the players all played well around the spiders
The main danger about the spiders in particular is that they are so lethal I do hope non of the many new players online tonight were putt of by them.
The idea was good unfortunately in exicution it became most unpleasant, as galim stated a town full of spiders is simply not fun. Especially when the server is only populated by 3 warrior characters.
Thanks all the same for the effort it did spawn some good rp in the end.

I would like to further point out that this quest was not even annoucned so there was no way warriors could even have known to be online for thhe event.

Yes, yes, I meant Chars, not players.

I beg you pardon?

There is no problem with not announcing quests. Why always knowing before? It's more exciting this way.
Nontheless I have to agree with you a little in this case.
Some warriors prepared would have helped.

Well who ever did that better hope i never find out IC

.
If it was intentional i would hope some one had a seriouse rp reason for it, as it got a bunch of non warriors killed, really made a mess of a groups rp and all the items were taken
Much the same as lighting fires all over the in

Announcing events so everyone goes to a certain location at a certain time is mixing OOC (but it happens anyways). But at the same time, its generally good to be reasonable when starting mass monster spawns.

Annouceing the time of the event should be neccisray, as stuff like this happens, however no one needs to know where it is, and unless there is no one at the location a broadcast doesn't need to be made about it. However when your going to have a lot of fighting, I'm pretty sure sleeping warriors/ ones in the forest would come running at the sound of battle.

Side note; if we have any quest ideas, do we have to PM a particular GM?

You can write a message to any of us. I would suggest Estralis, Rinya or Papoitsi. This particular GM is mostly accounts these days..and random shit events, apparently.
