Dravish looks behind himself to the two speaking figures, before silently following the elfess.

Sian waits behind a tree, peeling a green apple till Dravish passes, then recklessly tosses the half-peeled apple away into the bushes. And attempts to follow after him like a shadow, however without making any efforts to conceal this from the crafty elf.

'Just my luck,' he thinks to himself with a smug grin clearly expressing the phrase.

Aldriaa's keen elven ears pick up the hint of someone following her. She smiles slightly to herself, imperceptibly sliding her hand into her belt. With incredible patience, she slides her dagger from her belt and hides it amongst the folds of her dress. She walks a few more paces, then with a startling swiftness, whirls around and hurls the dagger at her persuant. She recognizes him as Arynne's companion only after she sends the dagger hurtling towards his heart. An oddly gleeful smiles seems to cross her face briefly, then she turns back around and continues running, silver hair flying out behind her....

The elf clad in blue looks at the dark figure...

"A little more respect from you if you please... had it not been for me, the elfess would have remained in prision; my name... it is of no importance, i hunt in the shadows... call me what you wish."

Looks at the figure in the eyes... "And you are?"

Notices something passing by; looks around "what was that? an elf? or a rather fast human... the elfess may be in danger..."

Without waiting for a reply he chases after the figure

Dravish watched the elfess slow her pace. he slowed his pace to match hers his distance kept.

What are you doing now Adriaa...

Then she spun and released an object as she did so.

Damn..

Dravish leaps to the side spinning on his heel as he does so. The thick cloak spinning in the air before him.

To slow..

The blade gets caught in the cloak but was only deflected from its intended target. The small blade slices the material and embeds itself into the nimble elfs arm. Letting out a grunt of pain Dravish holds himself up leaning upon a tree and watches the elfess flee.

He stops; he then turns towards the direction of the sound, bow in hand...

Meanwhile, in the town of Trollsbane, Arynne busies herself mixing salves and tinctures and preparing bandages for the upcoming tournament. She stands at the well, slowly raising the bucket full of water, when she glances into the water and gasps. In place of her reflection, the surface of the water seems to hold the illusion of crimson blood flowing through it, blotting it with sinister dark spots. She drops the bucket, startled, and the illusion is shattered into thousands of tiny water droplets. She looks back to the surface of the well, but sees only her own wide-eyed reflection.

Suddenly, she feels something tugging at the corners of her heart...

"Dravish..."

It seems Arynne did inherit a small bit of her dead sister's talent, after all...

Ignoring all forewarnings and fear, she races out of the Southern gate with an urgent swiftness.

The elf clad in blue continues running... in the distance he sees a male elf he recognises... Dravish? He decides to try to sneak past him, changes the rout towards where he can hear the sound of footsteps running... if that is the elfess, her speed shouldn't be too fast... thanks to the head injury...

The elfess sat quietly in one of the spacious rooms in Vanima, reading one of her favorite books. Her thoughts however drift elsewhere, to her beloved, or not so beloved, Dravish.

"Dravish...How could you...Why this woman...This not so well elfess? She is ignorant...She is unwise. She is not fit for you."

She lays the book aside gently, walking towards a window, looking over Tol Vanima. She lays her hand on the wooden craftmanship, slowly letting her hand slide alongside it.

"Maybe I should meet you a final time...Ask for an explanation. After that, I can leave, be it not in peace, but I can leave..."

Settling back down on her chair, she takes out a quill, some ink, and a large piece of parchment from her bag, and begins to write.

Hours after her rush from town, Arynne can be seen beneath a tree, her head low and her eyes streaming tears. After a brief outburst of emotion to her friend Kamik, she speaks to no one, no matter who walks by. In her posture lie the signs of a broken heart. She occasionally wanders South some and finds another tree to sit under. She seems to pay no regard to the threat of Aldriaa, or anything else.

Aldriaa sits under a tree in the southern forests. Hearing sounds like someone sobbing, she creeps silently forward. She lets in a small intake of breath..

There. Beneath a tree, and quite unawares of her surroundings, it is Arynne. She sits beneath the great tree, sobbing into her hands.

Oh, how perfect...

Aldriaa steps forward slowly, silently, until she stands directly in front of the elfess.

"Ah, dear cousin. Fancy meeting you here." Aldriaa grins icily, her eyes glittering cold.

"Do as you wish, Aldriaa," Arynne whispers, not loking up, "I don't care any longer."

Aldriaa grins, drawing her sword.

"I'm afraid you didn't take so well to my dagger, dear cousin." Aldriaa says, her eyes cold, "How about my sword?"

Aldriaa leans close, whispering in the smaller, younger elfess' ear.

"Oh...by the way, I killed Dravish." Aldriaa lies, watching the pain cross her cousin's eyes, and then the guilt.

Aldriaa stands looking down at her, grinning a moment, then brings her sword slowly to within a hair of Arynne's face.

"Now...how shall I do this?" Aldriaa presses the blade to Arynne's cheek, watching as a line of dark red appears on her cheek, and is mirrored on the edge of the blade.

Arynne's eyes reflect fear at last; She seems to have snapped out of it, but a moment too late. She stands and tries to run, but Aldriaa pushes her back against the tree with the flat of her blade.

"I think not. This is for betraying me." Arynne opens her mouth as if to protest, but before she can speak, Aldriaa thrusts the blade into her stomach. Arynne's eyes widen and then close, and she slumps against the tree. Aldriaa removes the sword.

Aldriaa looks down at her, at the blood pooling around her feet.

"Oh Gods...What have I done?" She kneels at the elfess' feet, shaking her shoulder slightly. After there is no response, Aldriaa stands and begins to run swiftly towards town, her cold eyes at last showing another emotion, though what, it cannot be determined.

"Help!" she screams as she runs "Please..someone..help!"

Aldriaa runs into a surprise — the crossbow of Konstantin Karmane locked, loaded, and pointed at her face from meters away, in the hands of a man in grey peasant's clothing and a familiar, wide-brimmed hat. Sian had quietly stepped out into the clear from behind a tree. Calmly, he guides his left index finger to seal his lips and gestures her to shush.

"Shhh, follow me quietly; if you go to the townsfools you'll meet death or worse," he utters to her with a stern glance, raising the crossbow.

Aldriaa stares at him, silver eyes wide.

"Idiot! She is dying!"

She seems to frightened to move, though, her eyes staring dead on at the crossbow.

Stephen walks through the forest, he had told Arynne he would protect her and help her solve the problem with her cousin. He is dressed in plain clothes, no weapon by his side. He now looks for Arynne, praying he can redeem his failure.

Arynne lies at the base of the tree, her eyes closed, and her blood slowly soaking into the forest floor...Her bag lies nearby, forgotten.

She has a long sliver of a cut along her cheekbone, and a hole gored straight through her stomach, all the way out her back.

She doesn't appear to be breathing.

Sian lowers the crossbow to his side and stares at her. The only open right eye of his flashes in the remnant rays of light broken by the forest's trees, causing the pale blue within the unscathed eye to look as if it was burning within.

"Who? Who is dying?" he hushes a concerned murmur.

((Crap Sian beat me.))

Callith sneaks around behind the group, and places his sword against Sian's back.

"Arynne, at her feet you fool, put that crossbow away, and help her."

"Do not test me, Callith, you may have more experience with the blade but you are not an ounce faster than me," he smiles deviously. The crossbow had already been lowered before the elf rested the blade tip against his back.

"You would be surprised, boy, but I doubt you could spin fast enough to stop me putting this through you, put it away! Then we can go and help them."

"True words, old friend, here, hold on to this for me," he replies, tossing the crossbow haphazardly over his shoulder for the elf to catch, using the moment of surprise and unleashing Karmane's feared technique, the Devil Blade — in a flash of reflection, two daggers flare up as he falls forward in an amazing roll that kicks the elf's blade off mark and levers him back up into a combat stance, applying two swift, subsequent slashes at his neck, however not geared to even touch Callith, but to drive him back a step away from him, both daggers then raising to a defensive stance.

"Now... how about we tend to the wounded and settle this another day?" he speaks, the words oozing out cooly, but intermingled with shorter breaths.

((Not fair you didn't give Callith the chance to react to that:))

"Pretty, had we actually been fighting you would be dead by now."

Callith steps away and picks up the crossbow, and examins it,
"Not bad, a good assassin's weapon, but not very powerful, you need to be close to the target." He fires the bolt into a nearby tree.

"I hope you don't keep it loaded for long periods, it weakens the wings. Now then, lets help the ladies shall we?"

Hearing a call for help to his southeast Stephen heads into that direction. His face pale, and his breaths become more and more shallow. Near his heart, covered by his fine red shirt is a gash, given to him by Nightmare, the skin around it has become purple. But Stephen makes his way to find Adriaa screaming for help, ignoring Callith and Sian's match of blades he goes to follow her.

Arynne has no discernible pulse, nor does she seem to be breathing. Her blood is also on the tree trunk, where her back had been when the sword impaled her....

((Excuse me, but how did Callith sneak up behind Sian, who, we might add, has a good perception and might have noticed? Just a thought.))

Sian lets them pass him by, as he flicks his wrists, and the daggers spin over his palms, almost like spinning sawblades, before they are audibly holstered in concealment within the cloak's sleeves.

He nods in reply and emits a short:
"Aye." Then follows the others to the location of Arynne.

"Someone check her bag, she's not breathing, or if she is it could be very shallow, the blade went right though, if any organs have been pirced there is nothing I can do for her, we would need Caitlin, and I doubt even with her talent's she could heal damaged organs."
