I think you should make fights easier for a person who have 19 strenght...
It is impossible to play if you don't... I have a sword, and a wool shield, and a vikinghelmet, and I still have big problems fighting or increasing my skills... And it is very hard to roleplay a hirewarrior who can´t kill anything exept flies and scorpions...

I pleased to hear random items are dropped...as I ahve tried many many many many many many times to rob people...weak people that are alone in a cave with a mean nasty orc who refuse to give up anything...I mean just stupid...they normally would..but they would rather die than hand over their coal or what-not. I was getting tired of rp'ing trying to rob people for like 10 minutes...giving them chance and chance again..and then attempting to "grab" them, which of course they always just ran off and then chasing them down smacking them with a huge war hammer...which never slows them down...until the die because I had no indication they were about to die...and in the end...I got nothing but a headache, angry, and the whole town after my characters.
Fun fun fun.

I have a question: How to mine and where can I mine? Whats the name on the ground?

There's not a special name, and that's IG info.

@ragor

I think fighting should be left alone, just because your characters has the highest strenght doesn't mean he's instantly a killing machine. there's more to take into account in a fight then just strenght alone, your skills and your other stats are important to think about when trying to make a fighter.

next: The new forest Trolls. they look awesome. but they've gotta be stronger. it's taking some serious will power for me not to go on a gem raid and stand there beating them up for half an hour :wink: .maybe not ogre strong but defaintly stronger then skellies. but three out of three for our first new monster so far.

Fighting should be Really hard. I don't know how hard these monsters are (flies are hard for me :wink:) and it should be almost impossible for halflings to fight. Look at the size of them! The most halflings I have seen are battle hardened veterans :roll:

Yes, on my good fighting character (that can fight 2 trolls at once ;) ) A halfling just beat him in a duel the other day. I wont name names, but that halfling was fairly new...

Forest trolls are more protective than aggressive though, they want to protect the forest, not kill everyone.

Dropping items on death, oh my. I think the ill tempered orc will own all of Lauranthalas's items before long, our talks usually end with her stomping on my poor fragile body :D

Yes they where planned so. And erm... i think they would be stronger in the next time. I am fixing them as soon as possible.

@ Fooser:

I agree with that as well, but at there current strenght they're just going to get brutalized. as to once they are stronger, there location makes me think they'll end up outside the town gates more often then not. someone running from them will dart into town and around the shop, then the monster will be inside the shop no doubt. happens with mummies so often.

@Cassandra:

by there size i figured they were planned to be stronger then they were. Either way I enjoy seeing something new on the isle. it'll make me miss the rot worms and spiders less. :wink: Can't wait to see if there anymore new creature in the works. i vote for a Dragon! (yes i'm kidding...or am i? :) )

I think you have misunderstood me, what i am saying is that thieves and bandits can be played to a whole new level when before it would be much harder. I am not suggesting it's good that people can go on a PK spree merely to obtain peoples items, but i am saying that the fact random items are dropped when someone is killed can help inchance roleplay.

I disagree though... Because There are such things as Theives, and they just might kill you for items...

So long as they don't just walk up to someone and kill them it should be fine, as long as rp is invloved, I wouldn't mind sacrificing some items for a well rp'ed thief.

I guess i wouldnt either, as long as he DOES rp and he DOES give you a warning to try to run away... :lol:

Posted: Tue Jul 20, 2004 8:02 pm
by Derthag
Of course rp and warning should be involved, i think i was slightly unclear on what i was suggesting...

Your money or your life would work well enough for me.

There are people who wouldn't threaten, they'd just kill. But such things would need to be roleplayed. Examples: #me silently hides behind the tree, #me eyes the <insert race here> while trying to silently draw his <insert weapon here>

people who say things like "your money or your life" are robbers, not theives... yeah I don't really think there's much of a difference, but think about it, a thief would sneak up behind you and pickpocket you. There should be some #me commands in there, but you character wouldn't notice, IF that person Rps well and you character doesnt' ahve the SUPER ability to recognize people who are in the shadows or behind trees (*cough f12 cough*). Robbers do have a place in Illa if their RP is good, but if you'l look on Moonsilver, it says specifically that Ronagan doesn't like people who kill. He's the god of theifs, not horribly RPed murderors.

Is there any big difference between the two clients besides the change of tiles and character models?

Posted: Wed Jul 21, 2004 1:19 am

Both client included the same things. The XP Client is a bit faster while loading.

I assume in general.

But to his question... Lots. You have to log in to find out.

Yes, there are differences:
Some bugs were removed (others were newly implemented ;) ), the new client can now handle large character-IDs (as you can see when pressing F12 near NPCs) which is important, and you probably noticed that it is much larger than the old one.

Yea I was wondering, must the monsters have gigantic numbers? At that matter... ANY numbers?
