All travellers coming to Trolls Bane can see those high oaks that stand like guards next to the gates of the town.
They may hear two commoners talking outside...
"Do you see this wonderful light that surrounds the tree? Word is that it protects the town from the undeads. They say, that no one will enter the town."
"Wouldn't it be wonderful, if they last forever?"
"I fear they won't. But well, they give us time to regain strength and to steel ourself against the cult."

Early yesterday morning, a fog bank rolled near the shores of the island of Tol Vanima. Unlike other fogs in the past, only elven eyes could notice a dark silouette of a ship as it weaved within the fog.
'Ding, Ding' like piercing banshees rang a bell.
As the noon sun began to burn the fog back, a ship became visible, even to non-elves who gathered at the shore to observe. Square rigged sails of a 'pearly' luminesence, with small figures running up and down ratlines and yardarms. Three Masts colored white all the way down to the Hull and thence to the waterline. A vague name was barely visible before it turned to the Lee and returned into the fog bank. It was called the "Ghost".

Urilen Quanasuard was last seen in the docks, in a old, raggy robe, and a black cult robe under it. Riding a single row boat, he sails off to the boat. He was seen with few equipment, and was never seen again. No one knows if he is dead, or alive.

my friend heard from a peddler, who met somebody, who has been in greenbriar lately, that tis big deaf barbarian, who lives there told everybody in the tavern, that to the south of briar, where the distance from shore to shore is smallest, he had seen a solid fence, made entirely of gravestones.
supposedly he saw lava puddles on the other side of the fence and two strange banners... and a small paved road to the south, where before was nothing....
but the peddlar means, that it might be, that the barbarian was only halucinating after eating mushrooms....

somebodys nephew overheard two traveling illusionists talking about greenbriar.
they beleave the whole story about a gravestone fence to be a hoax to attract people to that island...
they have been there, only to be told, that the strange border dissapeared, destroying a lot of trees.
... at least, that's what they told.
with those of the traveling folk, one never knows...

elmarion scribe at the trollsbane library shows his brother in law a scrap of paper.
"look, what i wrote for a barbarian today..."
dear mayor bottoms
well, a lot of things happened.
there was a secret meeting, atended by everybody and his brother,
at a place, that could be reached only by magic transport.
at that time i was the only person who had been in the dark zone.
(they took me prisoner, after i was beaten unconcious, later they exchanged me)
so consequently i was the only person whom nobody asked nothing.
then in a rush, instead of thinking, everybody wanted to go in the dark zone.
some wanted to return to trollsbane.
because nobody took the pain, to explain which gate was for what direction, i stranded in trollsbane.
lucky me.
when i had travelled to greenbriar by foot, i found out, that those who went there, landed in an exploding vulkano...
well, seemingly nobody died. but a lot of them were injured gravely.
they came one by one or in pairs to the hamlet.
and started quarreling among themselves again.
one unknown gentleman, (they were all black and grey from burnings and ashes) even treated to cut off my arm...
well, when i, standing naked in my loincloth, with only a half broken shield, held out my arm, he did not do it.
being tired of all that talking, i pcked me up a stick, and went south.
one general lutz mueller caught up with me, and we investigated the devastation.
its just dead land. some lava and near the south shore of our fine island there is a hole it seems to be a big, but really big mineshaft.
but it is sealed by magery.
the general traveled with a magic gate to trollsbane.
i, feeling tired and in need of some aid from the healers at the hospital followed him.
after being treated, i wanted to drink in peace a fine draft of mead.
there they were again. all those nobles and gentlefolk. quarreling, menaceing each other.
one should think, they had fought each other, not a common foe.
still not listening to nothing.
i am sitting here on the roof of the library, sending you this by one of the last doves i could find.
one curious thing: in the dark zone i could hear perfectly. even now i can hear a little better, than normal.
i think, the defenceforce, if this quarreling group deserves that name, has a traitor in its rows.
and by what my prisonkeeper said, and not said, and elimination of possibilities, i think it likely, that it is this princess from afar.
i did not see our sheriff or any other fighters of greenbriar.
being so few, and you out of reach, i will temporarily set them free of their oaths to defend greenbriar.
i as well will tell the citizens, that i recommend to seek exile, till things sort out.
i, myself, will travel after a good sleep back to the hamlet, and take my chances.
i miss you and your wisdom.
to you all those high and mighty at least had listened.
