I personally enjoy this quest, as a matter of fact. Standing on the side of Darlok, head to head against townspeople, guarding the castle, hearing RP speeches from them and such.
However, these are just a few illogical factors...
First, we are having a drought...on an island...surrounded by water. Even when I went to the Tanora shrine last, it's surrounded by water, has flowers everywhere, etc...however, I can't find one herb out of the entire area. I can understand a drought from the center, but there's no vegetation or life even near the shores or places where water should be abundant.
You can use your imagination, but unfortunately, there's not much you can do that can affect the quest on a more global level. Take the ogre cave event for example; for all I know, they didn't construct the cave until about four weeks after the monsters disappeared and hunters/tailorors lost a trade. It's not that we're lazy, it's just that some of us want to actually do something to affect it.
Drought = shit.

I hope they keep the herbs as they are, now herbs grow in patches, it was a bit silly to have them on every tile. So now you have to find the patches, which is REAL herblore. I think its fantastic and its much better and more realistic to go round to patches you know and collecting a few herbs.
It should be kept this way even after the drought. And dont complain that there arnt any patches, I'm making a map and have already found 38 seperate patches.

I say "attack" options have already most been exhausted. I havent seen any of these miriad of options affect the situation in any significant way. Again the key word is only "try". You can always try anything, but only the intended option for the predeterimed story progresses itGrant Herion wrote: And the way I see it is, you can solve this quest many ways. Gather up an 'army' and attack Darlok's castle ruins and take it over, or siege it if you will (I think a siege would be funner, my character would be trapped inside yay!). You could try and assinate Darlok. You could try and talk with Darlok and buy him off. You could build his castle and it will stop (or will it?). You can do a ton of things, just use your imagination.
Crocket and Bloodheart's got the point. Sure you can use your imagination, but unfortunately the end result is also only your imagination if it is not the actual storyline that was intended
You can think of a variety of things you could possibly do in this situation. Unfortunately in the end after thinking and trying them, you realize none of them have any affect and the intended progress is already obvious, so people's interest in "solving" the quest goes away.
Well... maybe its illogical for a reason...? It might be a hint that the sudden lack of vegitation could be because of some form of magic rather than it being by lack of water. (or have you already made sure that it is because of a lack of water? I wouldnt be sure of that since i havent been able to play the game yet.Bloodhearte wrote:these are just a few illogical factors...
