That's his GM account. His player account is older than you.

PFFFT.
Hey... 2005 was a good year. :wink:
Actually it was the year the new client came out, and I still don't really like the new client. Also it was the year PO Devrah Liioness joined on my birthday and made friends with Darren and stole my thunder. Also it was the year Maj died, and I loved her. And it was the year Quin had her stillborn child. 2005 was NOT a good year for Illarion.

2005 was lich wars! 05 was epic!
06 was pretty damned awesome as well. 07 was decent. 08 was meh. Let's not talk about 09. >_>

It all blurs into one after a certain point.

Fun quests / action quests -> complaints by some that : 1. monsters disturb their powergaming / 2. jokes and gags disturb their "tragical and serious rp" -> questers leaving -> fewer action quests, no fun quests -> players have less stuff to do -> more complaints -> questers leaving -> look what we have now.

Is this topic still going on?
Hack & Slash = Popular.
Roleplay = Not popular.
Hope that clears things up.

There are plenty of games that offer better engines for hack and slash. The engine in place in Illarion only stands to enhance the RP experience. I'm sure a majority of the hack and slasher inclined players don't play this game just for that. If they did, they'd be playing another game. They continue to play a game with a somewhat sub-par fighting system for the roleplay that comes with it.
