For a "child" to grow up, will we need to request to change the age all time then? If so, there may be things like.... automatically child to adult?

edit: you can examine oneself by a left click, however this is just examine and not examine closely, examine closely function please for yourselves.

Hmm is it possible to maybe..change the colour of an equiped melee weapon to black or something, might be just me, but I have a hard time reading the red names.

O_o it looks fine to me, and black would be unseeable in dungeons etc. and on lots of tiles. Red is more visible.

Congratulations on the successful update - lots of work put in there, well done! One of my minor RFEs made it in too, hooray!
Apart from this thread, where can I read about the changes? Just wondering what some of the new options do / will do.
I'm sorry, but I really don't like the look-at function. All the time I've spent, considering what my character wears, how it works with my armour, writing descriptions, bartering with other characters to have certain things made for me, and now I get "wears a chain shirt"? IMO, this is not adding to the role-playing experience, it's detracting from it.
An idea to improve this: When tailors/smiths/craftsmen make items, they could have the ability to create a description for the item. So tailor-made clothing can really be unique, and look however the tailor (and therefore the buyer) wants it to look. Even more advanced: The longer the description, the longer it takes / harder it is for the craftsman to make the item. So detailed, advanced items end up being more expensive.
Lastly, how do I know if I'm fat or thin or tall? Do people see whether I'm wearing high-quality boots or old cheap ones? An "examine self" option would be a good thing.

Left click your character and you'll see your own characters disciption.
This is only temporary however, since it was announced to have this moved to mirrors.

Well then you should stop rp'ing something you aren't up to, you can't say "#me wears full drow armor" while you just have a simple green shirt on...

That can't be done, without changing the whole database-

And you also can't have an expensive green shirt on. Or a green vest. Or an embroidered olive-green shirt. Or a green bodice.
You're saying that the look-at function prevents people RPing gear that they don't have. But that's not only a good thing - it also hinders people from RPing gear which doesn't exist, or gear that they claim to possess, not for the sake of PGing, but rather for the sake of adding more colour to their character.

Well in illarion there are only such items, it doesn't matter if you know other armors or weapons or whatever from our world, that doesn't mean we got it in Illarion aswell, just pick what might resemble what you want and it will be allright, the look at function won't replace the own written descrpition of the char anway and if it annoys you simply wear a robe or cloak or something, this will conceil your armor and you are free to #me all what you want.

I'm not talking about armour and weapons, I'm talking about clothes. We have characters from so many different races, lands, clans, etc. and it seems a shame to tar them all with the same "green shirt" brush.
I realise that we're still free to emote more detailed descriptions, but I wonder if this new feature will reduce the tendency to do so.

You see how expensive ones clothes are (so far I could raise my clothes-level to "cheaply"), and not long ago pharse offered to add unique descriptions to certain clothes for a ingame fee.
Which I imagine a quite tremendous work, adding every request by hand into the lookAt-script.
Nothingless, I can see this coming again soon.

Was mich etwas wundert.. wieso sieht man denn gleich, was der ander IN seiner Tasche hat?

In the belt view is a nice addition for thieves...
It would be nice if "robe" was changed to "cloak" or, we had "cloaks" also having discussed with a new player what a "robe" was. (changing the "wording" on just a couple of the robes to cloak would also probably give the tailors a lot more opportunities, I envision a lot of chars wanting those particular "cloaks" and especially ones with hoods. The graphic would not need to be changed at all.........possibly one of the black robes ig now changed to "cloak with hood" )

I got two unique descriptions, which seems rather pointless now, since noone can even see them anyway

The embroideries are considered to be viewed via playerlookat, but for now, the current version has to work properly. Just be a bit patient

that embroideries are plain and simple too long to be viewed as lookat text. At least in the way its handled now.

Who cares what people see I wil continue to RP a hood or whatever that is not implemented IG until the day I die, and even if it is implemented I will RP it.
