Sadly it is too early for celebrations. We have another problem but luckily it's more Illarion related I think . I get the game to work and then I get to the thing where the map shows. It completely freezes and freezes my computer so I have to manually shut it down with the button

In "Options" did you set all the things to the lowest settings?

Does your inventory and character load?

Does the main menu load?

It might be your 5mb graphics card.

No just a big map that's on the entire screen appears

Did you wait a bit for the game to load up? On slower computers, it might take a while. Also, set your graphics quality to "reduced", you won't see much of a difference in the game but it might load up way faster.

Did "Alt-TAB" still work when you saw the map? Did you start Illarion in a window or fullscreen?

I think, he's in the Worldmap-mode.

no because it says "Entering Illarion" or something and I also can't get anything else on my computer to come up.

I told you like.. 2 pages ago, go in options and set all your graphics qualities etc. to the lowest settings.

Okay, what happens now?

Now a black screen appeared saying "Entering Illarion" or something and it still froze my computer.

I'm pretty sure that's your computer's way of saying "kiiiiill meeee..."

My advice: Swap your computer with your brother's and see if he notices.

OK if you're being serious then that's a horrible idea and he would completely notice considering ours are 6 years apart on the time line.

My computer is 8 years old and I never bought new specs, but it still royally owns yours .

My idea on how to deal with your computer involves a shotgun, so if I were you I'd let someone else try to help you with this part, if it's physically possible for your computer to run illa .

But here's an idea: Stop running ANY other programs. Except windows. I think you should run that somehow . Unless you wanna use DOS. But anyway, you have low specs so if you have, for example, IE, WMP and MSN running, I'd advise you to turn them all off

Set frame rate to 13, and if you have a firewall turn it off...

After all this you'd better be the (2nd)-best rper here

I wouldn't really call this "working" but it is progress. I'm past the map and I'm in the game but all I see is the text box a black screen and a bunch of pigs... oh but the good news is that it isn't frozen

Does it show your char as a lizard, and a couple of your items, then nothing loads?

If so, I'd repeatedly bash your computer with something hard and try again.

I think we should all be ready to face facts. I won't be able to play the game unless:

1. My brother starts becoming a lot more generous (not likely)

2. I get a new computer for Christmas (not likely)

3. The Game Makers make some special impossible change that lets horrible computers work on it (even more not likely)

I used to be on a 56k modem playing illa. I could barely play at all; only in peaktime with my parents' permission.

You don't need to be able to have 24hour access to a working pc to play illarion, y'know?

Just ask your brother if you can go on his comp for like... an hour a day, and if he refuses whinge at him for a while about how his specs>yours and you can't run anything and it's unfair and that you can't even run one of the lowest spec requiring games on the net, and you don't wanna have to play textbase games just because he's selfish, and whinge to your parents about it until he lets you.

Yeah but if it's my brother that I have to rely on to let me use his computer then my chances are *0 to none* in a matter of fact he said I could use it today yesterday and he is still playing Gunz. If I constantly complain over and over again I MIGHT be able to get it for an hour or so...

Err..you DID make sure you have the most recent drivers for your intigrated video card, right? By the looks of this thread I doubt it.

1. Right click desktop and go to properties.
2. Go to the settings tab.
3. Look at where it says Display: It will say (monitor name here) on (graphics card name here)
4. Go to google and type in that graphics card's name with the word driver and then download the most recent driver. OR try this site, bottum of the page and look for the company that makes your driver http://driverzone.com/category.php?cat=1&page=2.
5. Restart and try to log in Illarion.

If I was drowneded in hopelesness then I would bet my soul that this wouldn't work and if this does work then I probably will be drowneded in hoplessness.
