I remember the election now, especially how Samantha really ran and corrupted the whole process (C'mon, everyone knows you did Patric!).
I don't have a clue why still some people really think that the elections were corrupted. There was nothing corrupted and not any ooc during the whole elections between Samantha and Siltaris at all. This was a complete ig-affair and people voted ig for Siltaris.
Siltaris tried and may will keep on trying to set up a working and stable government in Troll's Bane - again: everything ig, nothing ooc organised.
Since the latest rush of people/criminals on Troll's Bane it was quite hard to make a stand against al the people who want to interact with Troll's Bane's Government in any way. I hope I managed it in a good way, so now I can focus again on slowly set up a working government.
But I have noticed that is very difficult if not impossible to make something stable... to make a sustainable and strong government. The game mechanisms do not support something like that. That is why I contacted the staff to talk with them about the current situation. Nitram's posting here somewhere above was one of the first reactions. Hopefully more coming soon.
Furthermore, I am wondering a bit why lots of people seem to think the current government already is down - it is not.
I wonder why people are talking about a rising decline of the government, but do not do anything to stand agaisnt it - to support the government.
I wonder why there are still so many people accuse or insult PO Samantha for the current political situation in TB. The PO has nothing to do with the government since weeks. Instead it was and is me who makes decisions.
I think there may are two reasons why some people do not see that:
First, Siltaris is not ig very much. All my time (2-12 hours each day in the last 4 weeks) was spend to make a new Town Board, new Laws, to set up new and hopefully sustainable structures, to negotiate with parties, to make diplomacy, to change something in TB and hopefully to change something in the behaviour of the Players.
My aim has been to make TB a place where characters respect each other and the authority. The aim has been to get less crime into TB by harsh laws and a strong Guard. My aim has been make diplomacy to all people who want to get in contact with TB.
Now, I have to notive that all this is too much work for me alone. Since I am back in Germany from a semester abroad, I have a job again, have to write exams, write a report and have to prepare my diploma. The time I can spend for Illa-issues is consequently very limited from now on.
I have hoped that once I have set up political and judicial structure, that the time a governor has to spend for doing this job get lesser.
My hope was wrong - time has shown that the more work you put into creating something new, and the more time you spend into changing something in the ig-world of Illarion - shortly, the more active the Governor becomes, the more players use this activeity of the Government to involve it into their roleplay in any way.
Unfortunately, all those people who used this chance made their chars go against the government in any way. There only were a few people who supported the Government in an active way. The latest behaviour of The Seer made this number go down significantly.
However, the second point why people do not see that it is Siltaris who runs the government and maybe do not see the work behind that is that I always hardly tried not to get involved in too much ooc-affairs. In my opinion there is far too much ooc discussions going on between a lot of players, which influences the roleplay. In my opinion, there even are ooc-cliques who keep on making new chars who always play together ig. But since I only have very little contact with any POs, these are only my feelings, nothing more.
On second thought, screw it. Who needs the frustration of running a town obviously in its decline. (Patric's fault!
I think the frustration comes from the expectations the leader has. Now, I have adjusted my expectations and for some reason I feel better now. Nevertheless, my little time for Illarion remains.
Let's see what tomorrow brings...
Regards,
PO Siltaris
