Korwin, this is on the homepage. To answer your question....

To ensure this we founded a registered society and its became contractual in the statute. Illarion is online since Februrary 2000 and it's always being developed by programers and volunteers to fit and satisfy the wishes of the player community.

Oh yeah did I mention...pwnt.

As a semi-offtopic, I just wanted to say that yesterday it started raining (ig) , a rain that became a storm with lighting, thunder, fog and everything that a storm needs. I just sat there in the middle of it and just admired the excellent effects.. Then I realise.. these people work their asses off for us players, for us ungrateful beings to have a little fun and brag to our friends what a great game we are playing and what a great community we are a part of, and we keep only bitching and throwing garbage at them.. So I must ask you a simple question: Are we that friggin' stupid?

I think the greatness of the game has passed when you can be dying in the shop and people can ignore it. When you can throw a ninja star (or whatever they're called) at someone and they'll just let it pass by; when in a "purely roleplay" game, skillgaining and powergaming have taken over. When n00bs reign and you can no longer find someone to rp with in the middle of Troll's Bane with 50 people online. When the most you can get from a player is "Hello. My name is bladebla. I want to sell a full leather armour. I want to sell 6 serinjah sword. Bye." When noobs who don't understand the concept of ooc can cast as much (or more) spells as people who've been trying to learn for many months. Where you meet people called "Dragon Master", "Ube Rnoo Bsla Yer" and "Pokemon Master" every day. Where n00bs are being taught by n00bs. Where the best rp'ers have all left because of various reasons which appeared to be triggered by client change and removal of opening essay. Sure, we've got lots more players; but those players are going to bring this down to the level of runescape; and people will prefer the latter because it has more to do. Where the average roleplayer is seen as a god of roleplay. I love that the staff have done such a great job. I just wish a couple of mistakes hadn't been made which brought this game to a very dark era.

I'll play; but I play in the hope that the good rp returns.

Don't flame me or reply or any of that because I don't want to flame anybody; I just want to state my opinion and leave this topic.

You obnoxious little turd, they try to please the players yes, but in whole its not your game, it is thier game. They make mistakes yes. but i think you and others think you own the staff.

At first my view was with sams, thinking he was badly treated, but now youve all made me turn view against yours by the childish, immateaur. ungreatfull and moronic attitude to the game, and the staff and to the players who do not fit into your little cliche. So please go and stuff yourselfs

Alright hey.
I've played for what? 3 months? Plus a little more a few years earlier? Lets say 6 months. Half a year.

I look at the game.. The effects.. The 30-40 people playing it daily, and I think.. Woah, Kudos staff.. Kudos Nitram, Vilarion, Etc... Etc...

Then I look at the forums.. Makes me think.. Fvck.. Fvck everyone.
Seriously.. Fvck you all.. For ruining the fvck out of such a nice game, even if I'll never play it again, even when I get back to Canada I doubt I'll play it again.. I found another one, way better. No bitching community, no anti-staff idiots thingies..
And yeah, all I find to say is.. well.. simply.. fvck you all. Yeah all of you

Actually, over the past year when the n00bspree started; the essay change and automatic name approving was actually argued against quite a lot. It was fought against; but it stayed intact and now there's no more good rp. Hooray. (And stop with the bs "There's good rp if you look for it" because I thought that until a few weeks ago, and then I realised you have to look pretty damned hard and it comes about once a month; and it's still no way near as good as it used to be. All the newbies can say how they enjoy the rp, but you've never seen how it used to be; you've got nothing to compare the shoddy rp of today with. The "great" rp where you can bleed to death and noone cares.

And Karl, just type smile if you're going to do it at all. I think we all know what "smile" means anyway.

Adds some pointless rp at the bottom for his promise.

you got an amazing memory. but i sometimes feel in doubt, if you unerstand, what you remember.

the "famous RP" when all the now gone "famous Roleplayers" still were ingame, consisted mostly of cybersex and typical streetgang-insider conversations. and about 70% or more of this "roleplay" occurred near the TB shop.

not to forget the occasional ((not now, noob, dont you see i am roleplaying!))

is that really, what you are longing for to be restored?

Yeah Alex, but we also gained more players, and more possibilities, and more roleplayers.
Maybe it's a bit fvcked up right now, but something is being done about it I'm quite sure.

And Korm, it's not all that, I never had any form of ingame sex those days (Tried once though, at the end, but it went horribly wrong with Gra'Able secretly looking and making lame ooc comments, and to that Japeth popping up.)
Japeth was still a great gm though.

And when all is gone. I'm sure the ones who come back will be able to think of a roleplay of how they arrived al ltogether on this island.

Korm ol boy ;] I can honestly say when i played, i had never heard off ' insider roleplay ' and i dont make cybersex a hobby. Times have changed indeed, some prefer the new times, others do not. But you were not here when i truely used to play, so you cant say what it was like compared today as you were not about to make the comparison.

Everyones entitled to thier opinion, and in my opinion the game went downhill when they allowed any person to join the game. You may have noticed that the game itself has a few more players incomming than before, but 99% of the new players who do join in these times ( no offence meant to the 1% as i have met you and roleplayed with you when ive had the chance ) d nothing other than wander about, decide that they dont like the game as at most times people wont help them.

And why wont people help them? Because there are so many new players who join the game who dont know what roleplay is, and after so long people do get fed up showing people the difference between runescape and illarion when people dont want to learn, and sadly those who do wish to learn are outnumbered by those who dont. So unless they are lucky the new players wont find any help, whereas before with the application the few people who did get in, were helped immediately and without hesitation as they had put in the effort which showed they were willing to learn.

Bla bla bla

But at the end of my babble, just remember that times are different and unless you were there for all these times, you really can not make a comparison.

The games better, the community/roleplay is not.

Right think about it:

The good rp'ers don't pg. They don't skillgain! All their skills and items have been gamed over a period of time. e.g. Mages. All their runes aren't hard earnt skills are killed. BAM. And then there's the noobs. The older n00bs who skillgain all the time and'll just do it again, overtaking the newer players and the new n00bs who've just come from Runescape who'll do it even MORE and pwn our boots off.
