I'm gonna throw in my two cents here....
Quit whining about the prices.
I, for one, think it's pretty damn cool that we now have the option of building our own places. I also like the fact that it costs so much; if it didn't, every Joe Shmoe would soon have their own pad on Gobaith, and before you know it, THE WHOLE ISLAND IS ONE BIG CITY. By making the prices so "ridiculously high" [/sarcasm], the devs are able to keep the new structures to a minimum, thus preserving the wilderness areas of the game. Without all the forests and swamps and mountains (etc...), what would the point be of playing a character like a ranger, or an herbologist? The point I'm trying to make is, yes, building up the world we play in can and will be a good thing...but the price-structure the devs have come up with makes it happen slowly, slow enough we can adjust to it and not have to log in one day and see a medieval Manhattan. And for that, I thank them.

I personally would love to see some form of Greyhawk urban sprawl in the game.

The prices are fine, now just make Naldorwood stackable and give us a possibility to obtain brickstones besides camping one NPC and we're ready to go.
(Note I didnt moan about the list, just a bit about how to get the things that are asked for)

I don't know whether you were joking or not, but I'm not joking when I say I agree whole-heartedly.

I kinda agree with Quinny.
It seems every little thing that is done here requires 2 months of moaning before it's done.
And then a year of moaning and whining till most people either forget, quit or give up.
Let groups have houses, but not everyone and anyone.
Like the apartments in Varshikar, I like that but if every char who powergames some gets a house, the whole map will be one big house soon.
Houses and such can be fun, but with all the moaning and whining around it it's no fun at all.

It has just been introduced
Wait a while and we will see if this system works or not
And it's not about powergaming
Simple craft and trade stragedies

No one is moaning about the concept itself

Just discussing the perspective on the prices.

And that's why there are restrictions and rules. Everyone doesn't just throw up a house everywhere in 10 minutes. You are moaning in a post complaining about moaning.

I don't think that everyone is supposed to own a house
You will have to work for it
There's a difference between a wooden shack and a castle
There still is the possibility to adjust the prices, if it doesn't work like that
They for sure didn't set them out of the blue

Actually every character now changing his roleplay stance and saving up materials to build his own house should get flogged on sight.
I fear everyone will only think about where to get all the bricks for his own little house, Roleplay will actually *cease* to exist and it will lead so far that they will take back the list again and say "No, you're not ready to be allowed to build on your own" to the comunity.
So I say: Enjoy it while it lasts

I dont think that is true at all, at least there is a fawking goal for some of these characters that have no direction at all. At last they are making money for a reason besides just saying they want to be rich.

Maybe GM controlled building suppliers should sell building supplies in bulk, for a price. It really doesn't make sense for an individual character to stockpile an insane amount of goods. It makes more sense for the builder to keep a stockpile.

*mooooaaan* *moan* *moan* *mooaan*
now that my moans are out, on to questions:
gardens. Is there a way to plant them ingame that I don't know about? Are they considered building? are they to be discussed with builders to determine the price?
Is "my dude wants a hut" an rp reason to buy a small shack?
Is it true that you pay all the silver, or all the materials? or do you pay both?

Price for building underground?
Will it be "reclamation" plus walls if needed? Shovels and pickaxes and stuff? I noticed this seemed to be overlooked since theres additional work to be done if its underground.

Noo.. no additional work needed. Especially not in uhm.. underground towns.. lalala

Request/Suggestion:
I know you guys upped the brick selling, but still I have only been able to get about ~20 bricks PER day. At this pace, the pre-mentioned 6x6 with brick wall and roof will take over 50 days, just by walking to the NPC and getting 20 bricks...could it be increased more?

You will be able to produce bricks soon.

Is it possible to have rocks that can be mined? How much will they cost?

Rocks that can be mined are natural ressources. You can't buy something like this. Its there or not.

So if you make a cave, is it there or is it not?

depends on your luck. May you hit a lode, may not.

Nice changes. If the price changes are staying I think the 80 copper per ground/roof field is a huge help to everyone. Also switching tools from 15 silver to 20 is a good move as well.
Question: I see straw is needed for farmland, and perhaps other things, is this IG? I don't think Ive seen straw

So if I slide you 5 euro's I'll get a nice mine?
And about Foosers comment:
Even I get annoyed at times, I shared my point, and left it with that, I do not call that moaning.

Straw is the bundles of wheat perhaps?

Right, straw is raw grain. The thing you collect with the scythe.
