When I first started taylor, he was 11. At which I was told it was too young, and that 13 would suffice (I will not say by who). So he was 13 when I started him. And he is 16, not 17. He's not 17 untill the 25th of Mas ;)

think i may Bring my child character Ryou into this game.. he wasnt always a child though he got hit with age regression so he's overly mature but he find him self utterly delighted by things he ((when older)) wouldnt be caught dead doing (tag is a great example)..

also he likes to go camping and play with wild animals.. he doesnt really talk alot though and comes off as mute at first. after he warms up to you he's quite a nice kid.. just dont tell him you think that... as for practicality he's verry mature he has grown up once and had a rough life he was granted a second childhood because as an adult he was lees than forgiving to any one he met.. as an adult he'd sooner kill you then say excuse me to get around you.... so yeah he feels a bit of self loathing but like i said once you get him to open up he's a nice enough kid, who just wants his fare shot at being useful...

but the more interesting thing should be the ingame present.

freehand out of my memory:

somebody(XXXX)#me is a dirty boy....
#me is a big barbarian in leather clothes with an axe over his shoulder.
somebody(XXXX): gimme your money, or i stab you with my knife...

he ran, when the barbarian axe spoke.
but i think, playing a child (or teeny) he never even should have threatend a grown up barbarian, to stay in character.

if there are child-chars that are played really like children, i have still to meet them.
some kids are ballzy... not all kids accepted their fate as door mats. granted most grown adults wouldnt bother using their axe they would simply wack the kid with a bare hand to give them the message to bugger off..

Hexis, please stop posting doubleposts, its annoying, we got an edit function use it.
This topic is fairly old and the "child char" hype seems to be gone anyway so no need to dig graves.

Damn straight. Who resurrects 2 year old threads when they have nothing useful to say, anyway? >_>

And as Arien and Pella said, please edit instead of double posting.

The problem about child characters is that they often "abused" the halfling graphic.

Someone should ask the developers for char graphic shrinkage (1/3 - or 1/2 - sized char graphics) instead *g*
Should also get along with 1/3 stat points or alike. Children casting huge spells or kiling mummies or being master craftsmen is uhm... poo.

If Illarion gets more fun RP instead of tragic/epic RP types, it will become more playable again.

The Children-Hype comes and goes. As soon as one or two start a child character again there will be a new wave. ;) Which I would love to join again as well. And I think children-chars bring both, lighthearted and dramatic RP, depending on the situation and on the background of the child.

Yes please!
What happened to the whole shrinking graphics proposal anyway? ^^ At the last Illarion Meeting people made it sound like it was basically already done. *g*

I had a 23 year old halfing which I roleplayed as acting like a small child.
Most fun roleplaying I ever had.

half size graphics for child chars sounds nice. Also half skills. That would also make it easier to stick to the role I think. And one would not always have to explain that he/she is a small child...

Before it is locked, I agree. I am sure some get tired of seeing a descrip everytime another walks by but most assume a man or a woman if human before even seeing a description. As far as 14, IMO part child, part adult, a little teen thrown in, can make for an interesting char with sometimes unpredictable reactions.
