A city won't be needed, to fight our enemy. Only the swords and brave men, which are fighting with them.

I strongly oppose the destruction of the Southern Woods. Many animals make their home in these woods, you have no right to evict them for your own purposes. If you wish to help against the threats the isle faces in current times, build armies not cities.

I've said it before and I will say it once more. The one who claims the land in the name of Sorbania, will not be moved by the word of those who oppose his idea. As mentioned, this parchment was meant for supporters and people with ideas that should help in making this land. Please consider my words as you consider your next statement.

I am a supporter of the Island of Gobiath. As such I have to oppose the foolishness that will blight our lands and bring danger to all. The rape of an entire forest will harm the delicate balance of nature of our isle. The emergence of a new city will spread our already thin and fragile population and economy.
I would support the people of this Isle and save them from this foolhardy venture. Those that support this 'territory' put themselves in great danger, whilst the whole project endangers the whole Island.
A foolhardy leader who listens to nobody and nothing but sycophants and his own foolishness is a danger to everyone, supporters and all. I seek to warn and inform the supporters of what they are getting into and what they are bringing upon us all.
Think on that before writing here again.

I see the point you make. But might I say that though this forest seems to be the biggest one of Gobiath, it is also the most dangerous one. Trolls roam these forests and everyone knows what brutes they can be. The person creating this territory is not only getting rid of the danger of roaming this part of the island, but offers the people of Gobiath a new start from the fueding territories already created. I cannot think of a single thing in this forest that cannot be found in another place...but if someone else can please feel free to correct me. I do not know about Lord Fjaen, but I do wish the ones who sign this parchment do it on a cool and calm manner, rather than an angered one.

The trolls are a danger because the forest is their home. If a man walked into your home and started chopping things up with an axe, you'd be quite angry.

to conquer new territories and live in them, to me seems to be the very nature of man.
while i dont see any reason, why the founders to be of sorbania should not occupy that territory, i ask myself if it really will be necessary, to cut down the wood.
a city does not need that much space.
if the plans would be revised, i'm sure, that it should be possible, to build the new city mainly on grassland, cutting down only a small part of the woods.
to me personally, a smaller city with all comodities would be more valuable than a long city walls with a big emty space behind

The Trolls are not animals. They are thinking beings. The forest is their home, they protect it. Stay out of the forest and they are not a danger. It is only people entering their home and disturbing them that gets them angry. Destroying the forest will greatly anger all Trolls on the whole Isle...causing a lot more danger for everyone.

I can only ask as to why you love and protect these Trolls so dearly. The Trolls are bothersome creatures who attack anything on sight. Even you, who is trying to protect them, would be attacked. The Trolls are thinking creatures, but they don't have the ability of reason. If Trolls were truly such complex creatures, then they would know the trees and herbs of which we all need to survive and would be able to strike a deal with us to keep us away from the majority of their home while we could have a fraction of the forests to keep ourselves alive. But alas, their thoughts are not as complex and they only think of one thing: See (not seek) and Destroy.

apparently you haven't met enough trolls, the certain can reason and think, but it is true they will attack those who enter there territory with little warning.
trolls striking a deal with you would be like a merchant striking a deal the thief he just caught stealing his goods.
if you begin to destroy the forests they among other of our more quiet neighbors are sure to bring harm to the isle in revenge, when this happens be sure that those of us who had no quarrel with them, will certainly have one with you lot.

That's not exactly what I meant by "Striking a deal." I was trying to point out that the Trolls know of the many of the islands residents who go into the forest and rob them of their trees and herbs. There are even some who go into the forest to defeat Trolls in combat. They'll brag and yet no harm would be done to them. As to trolls having reason, I've met dozens of Trolls, but their behavior is always the same:Attack. But I guess among themselves they might have a little bit of thought.
But I must agree that if the trolls were to attack the ones who wish to build upon their land, we'd probubly only be able the find a handful of people to fight with us. As I have said before, Trolls for the most part have no reason. So do you think they would stop at us? I think not. They'll attack everyone on the island, from Trollsbane to Siverbrand. Unless the wish to lose their lives they would have to fight back.
So you must see, the trolls will always be a threat to us. And, be it us or our desendants, the islands residents will be the ones to exterminate them...not themselves.
PS I do not only speak of the ones attempting to make Sorbania, but of the entire island's sake
