Oddly enough, so far the only people whom dislike me are Dheavraow (a former bandit I have cut down several times), Cain Freemont (who strangely I have never met in my life and likely never will) and Devrah who was erased from the town guard because whenever the town needed her she was not there.
Let active citizens speak their minds.
Prince Jierdan, Brer, Fooser, Arameh and all you others, it makes me feel a lot better to know you all support me.

nice try there Fooser. i know it must be troublesome to work so hard to think of your clever banter and all. i'll give you ten points today. you should probably stick to egg laying rather then politics i fear your much less suited to the latter. with love

An innocent looking girl in her early twenties pins up a reply.

I would just like to say that a few of you are making yourselves look like immature children, and I'm not meaning to offend in any way. I just think its hard to take some of the opinions here seriously when there is petty insults being slung back and forth with only the intent to belittle someone else's worth or opinion. Now I don't know much about politics, but I am a citizen of Trolls Bane and I think from what I've seen mister Stephen is doing a good job. I wouldn't want to see him thrown out because of his past. Everyone deserves a second chance, and he seems to be showing that he's up to the challenge. Maybe if some of you give him a little more of a chance you'll see that he isn't so bad? Or at least, to those of you that it concerns, try and act a little more like mature adults? I know not everyone can get along, but at least we can be civil about it, can't we?

With much respect,
Jeanette

alright enough fun for me, frankly why don't you just let the citizens have an actual election? it's the chance they didn't get to have since after all people proclaimed themselves this or that or merely took over trollsbane. and by election i don't mean a quick tally of people who could care less one moment to the next but perhaps an actual chance for people to get to meet candidates and such over a period of however many days. the candidtates for election will be responsible for there own publicity of course. so at the end of the election if said person wasn't voted for at all then it was obvisously a lack on there part.

maybe we will maybe we won't who knows. was there some point to that Fooser? unless you saying that any group thats wants to can merely seize power as they please. no election or public opinion required.

The active citizens are speaking their minds. They are too afraid of losing their hometown for putting their name on this list. I think that a real election would be a great idea, if we had more than two candidates. Perhaps a list of those who are seriously interested in (and doing good for) the city should put their names on a parchment. We could go from there.

Allen looks at the topic in aww, of how it has grown since he last saw it

Athian, your on the right track, but you aren't even a citizen.

from the pages and pages of complaints Ive been reading, I still haven't seen one valid point. I think it was Athian who said, "they don't need points, theres more of us than you! thats a point!" sadly no, it's not. what I want, from all you criminals and bandits, is one, just one flaw from Stephen's work here. on top of that, I'll bet you 100 coppers that there is more for Stephen than there is against him.

you all plan on over thorwing the government, right? this isn't the way to do it.

1. find someone that is suitable for the job, someone unlike Retlak, someone you all trust to do well

2. the hardest part of this, you'll have to find something wrong wiith Stephen, and how he is hurting the town, which you haven't proven even the slightest bit so far

3. explain why your new governor can fix his problems, and how he is better than Stephen. prove to the town that, Stephen isn't doing it right, and this new Governor can.

that, is a quick plan on how this should go about, not a bunch of rubbish like this.

I am fine with Stephen with governor, and I doubt you could get that plan checked off.

and please, if you want to take him down, sign your names! how would we even no that this isn't some moron making a bunch of fake posts with his three buddies?

I support a government, and currently the government of Stephen Rothman, Brer Beothach, and Fooser has served well. I would be distressed to witness this current government destroyed for one that would be more popular, but less efficient.

Although I do agree the current government was not appointed, I fail to see how that past even has any bearing on the future of Trollsbane. I also fail to see how past legitimacy damages future efficiency. Certainly, it deprives one of the ability to assign titles of nobility to their friends, but is that such a price to pay?

Further, I, as a citizen, have found my words to be recieved by the government, rather than brushed off. Although I do not hold an office that I've been elected to, I can participate in the governing of Trollsbane.

Rather than attempting to seize the government through an election, I would suggest to those interested in governing, rather than holding a title, speak with the current government. There is absolutely no need to be 'mayor' or 'chancellor' to engage in the governing of Trollsbane. Rather than seeking an election, which harms Trollsbane if anything, work for the changes you would see enacted by a different elected government.

mmh i've been quoted for something i didn't say. anyway

trollsbane is different from all other towns in the fact thatis a medium to more the trade and commerce on the isle. in this fact many outside parties become concerned with it's ongoings because it will in turn effect everyone. trollsbane boasts very little housing in this same repsect because it's more a place of trade then a place of dwellings.

secondly no matter how good a governer Stephen might be the fact is that he took over Trollsbane. if you trace back the events of the past up to the current standing it's fairly easy to see the escalation of events to the current point. fact is just because your a friendly dictator doens't make you less a dictator. and its because of this point that people are of unrest. they weren't given a choice to say yes or no. regardles of weather hes a good leader or not so long as this fact remains true people will question his ability. thats why i suggest the vote be held. but as said i'm not a citizen or trollsbane. so not my call.

Yes there is a point Athian, perhaps you should be preaching your democracy message elsewhere rather than holding a double standard. Not only that, but we are more democratic than any past groups, many of which Varshikar actively supported.
