The community was far more connected with each other back then than now. You say that people do not need to carry weapons around town anymore to remain safe. I simply have to disagree. The fear alone that these events surrounding the Town Guard produce is enough to make myself wish to carry a blade. And I put my bloodshed for the good of the town behind me long ago. During those times, not everyone had to know how to fight. Merchants were profitable, because those who did know how to fight always had a need for supplies. In times of war, those same merchants lowered prices, even completely removed prices for the good of the community. Mages, druids, merchants, and brave warriors alike all supported each other to survive. That is why we were safer. We were ready, alert, yet free from those who simply want to be in power. Those who were strongest were in power, yes, but it was not because they wanted to be. Its because they were the strongest, and it was their responsibility as such to lead the people. Violence is an unavoidable aspect of the world. However, there are things that can be done to reduce this, such as removing those who want to be in power, and putting those into power who are best suited.

I really think that you should create a new guard from scratch, Callith. These men have too many personal problems. Shandariel, you should actually not care about these things.. Even if it is your friends, it is their problem. It is the best if we left these things to their own. Dei is a bad man, I agree, but do we not all have our own problems?

To be straight, I do not care about any humans feelings. I do have personal reson for this, wich I do not wish to talk about on these boards.
And yes, these things are better left alone by atleast me. I do not want to argue with you, so please do not write senseless things like this here. Take that on a personal conversation with the persons involved. I wish you the best on whatever you do.
