never learned to drow sorry. how do you get that skill?

and possibly, but if we go that far that means add wieght of heavy chest plates, helmets and weapons. also the lack of vision as i decrease to your dodge count. then subtract it all from your ability to dodge.

If your trained in your armor, you can more easily move to deflect off these peices as well. I don't recall any example or why any peice of armor would be any thinner than the breastplate (except for sabatons). If you could afford such great protection its likely you rode a horse rather than walked. Many breastplates were 2 peice configuration so they can bend some at the bottom of the ribcage. It also depends alot on the style of armor you wear too. Since armor tech evolved alot through the several hundred years of the middle ages.

I think the key to this conversation is the fact that small minority of persons in RL wore full plate armor at that time, so you can't accurately compare the weapons of the time to a game where everyone wears full plate armor with similar weapons.

And no I wasn't defending you Sam, I was making a point of my own.

not armor pieces Grobul, sections of armor. such and the jointed area's they oculdn't possibly be as stiff as the rest of the armor because it would hamper the knights ability to fight

in the equal sense IF someone trained enugh to attack only such regions in armor, then they should just as easily know how and when to strike them. but thats an if.

i agree. every character wears these heavy armors, with little to no disadvantage. i'm not trying to put the blacksmiths out of business (like there are any that make the better armors ingame ) but from what i've personally seen, armors like that could use a major deduction in a players dodge rate. there is a minor effect but it's very minor.

I always had the idea heavy armor negated dodge altogether, but fighting is based on where you hit someone. So if you have a leather hat(0 stiffness) instead of a visored helmet, if someone tried to hit you in the head you would more easily dodge than if they tried to hit you in the chest and your wearing silversteel. (based on tactics I guess). Based on this idea chars who wanted to dogde would have to wear a new "medium" class of armor, geared tward bandits/archers/light warriors who can wear metal (no mages) but have good attributes for dodging, because most warriors who have dodge gained it before the newer system in the old client.
