Dont forget to bring 20 of both helmets and metal gloves also, because they break quite easily. And potions, lots of them. And when we run out of food, potions, and gloves, we will both walk to the shop while still hitting eachother. When we hit the cap we will then sit in the tavern idling because we are too lazy to move, then when about an hour or so passes, we will start again.

Can you stop being stupid and spam this thread?
a low hunger bar means your char is hungry, a missing bar means he is starving! a starving char don't gets fat when he eats to stop starving
. It depents on what your char eats. Eats he just ham and cakes? or bananas and other fruits? bread?
Not how much, but what. When he is starving he should eat.

A sinking foodbar means your body is burning what you ate. Your body gets more and more hungry because the he burns the food and whatelse for energy, and, by mages, for the mana. Using mana IS stress for your body, is making you tired and leaching. It is not easy.
So thats a reason why they are lazy the other time, because they are already tired from using mana *sighs*
But logic don't seems to work by you.
Effort for magic means less energy and wish to have effort for other things.
Using magic is strenuous

I won't tell you how often my char goes to the toilet, and I won't rp that ingame.
Just let me say you that your body also work up that "waste" faster than usual. You work up food you ate quicker when you go walking after the meal. than just sitting around.
Same is with using magic, and spending mana.
Shall we see how much warriors eat when they go killing skeletons or whatelse? since I can think we ate many, many food with our characters ingame. Is it when smithing and becoming hungry, is it when fighting, or doing anything else that use up your food bar. that is not a mage only thing!

I am not talking about tea when I am talking in ancient. My usual discussions involve the latest rumors about the island such as the whole Stephen became king thing, and about the magic meeting that is being organised by Samantha, or about my research. Also the occasional chatter with former students of the Magic Academy, but what do you expect? It is nearly becoming Misjilah's native language.

No, thats called giving his opinion, when you say that they spam, your message is a spam
. So i must admit that my message saying you spam while saying other are spamming is a spam, and you most likely will say i spam cause i said your other message was a spam from saying the others spammed.
PS : This spam message have sence, even thought it dosent seem to have any.

I'm not trying to accuse anyone of powergaming, poor roleplaying, or abuse of magic. I am also not suggesting those characters that have runes do not deserve them.
What I am trying to suggest is that mages use their spells sparingly, in such a way that keeps magic impressive, and special.
I'm not pushing for magic use to be looked down upon in all but the most dire of circumstances. However, if players are at all concerned with magic maintaining mystery, I would suggest they try and remove 'everyday' magic use from their characters. If this doesn't concern you, by all means, change nothing.

The very idea of using a washing machine as an analogy for magic seems a bit ludicrous to me, but perhaps it already demonstrates what's happening to the idea of magic. If you had a washing machine (being used to model basic "common" magic) would you do all of your laundry by hand
Perhaps instead of using the spell as a substitue for every instance in which one needs to open a door, the spell could be used only when it was neccesary? Use the spell when an ogre is dashing towards an open door. Use the spell when a criminal is about to make his daring escape. Use it when a companion is running for a closed door to avoid certain death. However, please avoid using it to open doors just because you can.spells of such type are meant to be used how? what great cause can you help with a door opening spell or the likes?
Thank you, that's what we believe as well. If magic is strenuous, strenuous enough to require food consumption, wouldn't it be easier to walk? After all, walking doesn't drain your food bar.Using mana IS stress for your body, is making you tired and leaching. It is not easy...Using magic is strenuous
I suppose this could be a bit true in my case. It would be nice for my character to have all the runes, although I'm glad he wasn't chosen as one of the second generation teachers, he'd do a terrible job. Although I fail to see how 'envy' would invalidate all the points that have been made.for me that sounds like most of the ones complaining here are just envious
