If you died in a monster cave then when you log on after an hour you will most likely be killed by the same monster and waste another hour getting back in to be killed again. And I don't really agree with not losing skill or items. Just my opinion

well hell, then an hour punishemtn of not playing then when you log on you are a ghost so you wont be re killed again...just no skill lose.

I'd take a day's worth of not playing if I didn't lose any skill.
