Who on earth would use bare fists against metal? The wearing of knight gloves is efficient for fist fighting.
Not every fist fighter uses knight gloves and that is what i was trying to say. And not every fist fighter is some kind of super martial artist that knows the "preasure points" or whatever you call it. Where is a weak point if you are wearing chain mail? it covers your body like a T-shirt

Even in real life, punching somebody in the bare chest where a tee shirt would be still isn't a very intelligent thing to do; at most, you'll give your opponent a bruise there. The stomach is the place to go, or under the ribs, and if that's covered by chain mail instead of plate, simply go for the head. They'll be too emcumbered to properly dodge your quick hands.
I wanted martial arts to be an actual fighting skill in game before, but this can be roleplayed if you just use your fists.

That would be difficult though.. unless you had a method for typing various things verrrrry quickly, by the time the fight is over (in some cases), you're just hitting enter on your first #me and it's already invalid to what's going on...
Oh.. which brings to mind... hmm.. something I should probably start a new topic on... (automatic #me's, regarding some in game functions, so you don't have to type and type for repetitive things, to properly roleplay it (mining, fishing, other things)

A character who uses martial arts doesn't have to type an action constantly...one can simply type; #me raises his hands and readies his feet in an awkward manner, ready to strike with both
And use empty hands.
