Impossible.

Who knows? Only himself, so let's wait for his answer

I think the "Players online" - window should be a little bit wider, because some names are too long.

I thought I could create my own groups in there?
And I think they are more than 100 players.
And why I´m existing twice.

Nope, you can create your own groups as described in the illnamegroups.dat included in the onlineviewer.zip.

Bladefist wrote:When decoding the names.dat file it could happen that some names will appear more than once (that's what happened with Josefine's file). That's not an error in the decode algorithm, but content of the file if people introduced to you before and again after the format change of the names.dat file.

I'm going to release version 2.8 today.
Shivoc was so kind to send me the real location where the server stores its online statistics so I don't have to parse the HTML file anymore. This saves traffic and cpu time.
I've also increased the width of the "players online" - list and added a horizontal scrollbar in case a name's still too long.
The window position of the Online Players Viewer will get stored now.
Other design changes: I've removed the Windows borders and replaced the close and minimize icons by ones that fit into the current design.
If you have any recommendations I'll try to include them too.

I thought you weren't supposed to know ingame who was online? Wasn't there a system that used to tell you when someone logged in, but they deleted it because it was bad roleplay? Isn't this the same thing? Sorry, but I just found that confusing.

The Online Players Viewer doesn't make any ingame changes so I don't think it'll disturb roleplaying as you can also access the online player stats at this website.

Would it be possible to save the location of the NAMES.dat if it is somewhere else than in the same folder with the viewer?
So I wouldn't have to search the file everytime the program is run.

That should already be done.
The path is saved in the registry:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Online Viewer\

After about half a year I had time to work on the Illarion Online Players Viewer again. Today version 2.91 has been released. Here are the changes from version 2.8 to 2.9 (2.91 were bugfixes):
Players with existing comments are marked with a "+" in front of their names.
Now you have also the opportunity to save comments to characters displayed in your names.dat content view (simpy by clicking on their names like it was already possible in the online list).
Duplicate entries in your decoded names.dat file will be ignored.
I've added a groupfile editor which should help you managing your own local groupfile (illnamegroups.dat).
Thanks to Giandor and Josefine for their suggestions!
