Actually Gro'bul, it IS a non-metal, but has many metallic properties.

You tell that a studied physician?
Silicone, Si, is a metal, a half-metal actually.

Physician is the english word for "Arzt", a medical.
You wanted to use "physicist", which means "Physiker".

Besides that, Si counts as metal as far as I know. I see no reason why it shouldn't. (I asked my brother, who is a chemist, in order to be sure and he agreed)

<klugscheiß>Silicone is per definition (insulator at 0 K but a semiconductor above 0 K) a half metal, nethertheless iron is still the most common metal on earth, aluminum is the most common metal in the crust besides, but the crust is thinner then an eggshell if you have a look at whole of earth. Now, the core and the [Mantel] consists mostly of... you guessed it... iron (and silicone).</klugscheiß>

Nice herbs, to stay in topic ;-)

Metalloids have properties of metals and non-metals.

The herbs were stolen from another game, IIRC.

@Halfmetal: Ok, so be it. Let's call it a half a metal. But it's more common in the earth's crust than other elements, the part of the mass that comes from silicone in the crust is 25,8% ("Massenanteil", didn't know how to translate it into english...), the one from iron only 4,7%, aluminum 7,57%.
