Gosh Gro'Bul I said Xerake wasn't the one I was complaining about. It was someone else that was following us. Xerake didn't really annoy me that much. And how do you get rid of people that follow you without force? And about the upstairs library if you say someone owns it...Then does that mean you can't even walk in there? That's dumb. As long as they aren't using it I don't think they will care too much.

Also STOP talking about stupid things of who is better and who is dumb and who is wrong and who is young. I could care less. So just shutup about it.

I really don't see the point of this thread, it is similar in theme to Kalypse's one, but the quality herein, is far from similar.

Somebody lock it up.
Martin, I know how much you like doing that, so be our guest.

Ok kiddies, heres the deal..... Me and Kasume were in the upstairs library and we were trying to have a Private convo... a couple people come along and we ask them nicley to leave, for the most part they did. Than when one person was completly up into the conversation just sitting there listening to everything we were saying ((whispering or not)). so we moved. THEY FOLLOWED US!!! we cannot stop someone from following us, plus we never said it was our library (hence the reason we moved, because its not ours and if someone wants to be there they can). so thats what kasume meant by people being jerks, all you guys seriously had no clue what really happed and said that kasume was wrong.

well, when you guys get stronger, you can threaten to kill them

Why should it be on the role playing board? It's General....Doesn't that mean "anything"? Doesn't matter what it is.

kasume.....its calle roleplaying, you play your character, unless of course you can rp yourself and you lived a few hundred years ago. Anotherwords, people might be mean in the game but nice in rl. this forum is ooc.

He, Kasume, doesn't understand that those who were annoying him in the game were acting their role and not being a so-called 'jerk' but rather were roleplaying. He was unfortunate and came across more than one character that got on his nerves and decided that it was a problem with the players playing the characters and not the characters themselves for some odd reason.

Kasume, please understand that the players are not being jerks to you but are acting their roles. There is absolutely no reason for you to have posted this in an ooc forum. If you wanted to discuss with other characters about these 'jerks' who you met in-character then you should do so in the rpg forum and not here. Absolutely nothing can come from posting what you did here except the obvious flaming that happens so often here.

In summary: Your character had a problem with other players characters and therefore you should have kept this information in game and not brought it forth for all to read when they have no need to concern themselves with your character's bad day. If you want them punished in any way, shape or form you need to do so in-character and not ooc as you appear to be trying.

If your problem is that you don't get along with other characters in the game right now then you should really take some more time to develop your player-interaction skills. If you do this you will enjoy the game much more than you seem to right now regardless of which character you are interacting with at any given time. Don't expect everything to go just as you want it to go within the game. There are hundreds and thousands of different players playing this game and there are none who are exactly like you, think exactly like you, or want to act anything like you. Enjoy the variety that these differences bring to the game and don't fight them. Embrace them.

I am not commenting on this for one reason. EVERYONE has control of their character. Usually the character reflects to their own self. They don't just change into a different human or something when they log on.

Another thing is Grof...who are you? hehe

actually, kazoom, one of the pleasures of rping is that yuou can play around with being someone completely different.
Also, most good roleplayers set up certain rules for their character, that dictate their actions and reactions. As such, you cannot and MUST not blame the character behind the screen.

Ka-Zooom,

do you realy belive that "Darlok" reflects my own Personality?

Kazzy, rethink what Roleplay is.

The Character "Darlok" has fixed Frame of Rules, in every Situation these Rule provide a limited amound of Solution how my Character can react.
It is true, i set these rules, but i also have to obey them.

When Ka-Zoom is your own Self, then you should take some long Holidays from this game.
Never even think that Words/Actions are directed towards your real Person (if not stated otherwise).

In Order to play your own Character good(better) you should think of setting up special rules for him also.
Is can reach from simple day to day thing, like:
"I dont like fish, you cant froce me to eat it."
to his belives:
"I never belive in the new Gods, Oldra is still present!"
to thins he fear:
"Take this Scissor away! TAKE IT AWAY! Its gonna hurt me !"
even to things that are completly insane:
"The Sky is falling on our heads ! Hear me? The Sky is falling!"

The more Rules you have, and the better you play them and show them the other Players, the better your Character gets and the faster you are accepted in the Comunity.

Some little things from Darlok
Why does Darlok not like Kasume?:
Kasume is a Kid (you said that), Darlok does not respect unexpierenced Persons.
Kasume is not noble, Darlok does not respect Commoners (Peasants)
Kasume aced like a brat towards Darlok, Darlok hates this.

This list could go on, but its all InGame.
Kazzy, you should rethink most of your actions. Maybe even rethink if you are able to stand the "Pressure of Roleplay".
This Game is reccomended for 16 and older, and you said you where 13. These 3 years dont seem to make a big difference, but they provide essential Key-Moments in your Mental-Development.

Think, this word shall always remain in your (everybody else) mind.
Player of Darlok

I think roleplaying is a challenge.. any way you play it.. when you live your own life sometimes you are not compatible to your own believes. Imagine how it is to live someone you are not... thousands of variables that build up a personality and you have to remember them and connect it to the situation you are in. I was studying how theatres work and a bit of it's history for my school and I found it amazing how it is similar to my concepts of roleplaying. Roleplayers are just that, actors and actresses that live a role that they made themselves, interacting with people with their own roles and will most likely surprise you with some reactions once in a while.

I started learning how to roleplay with a character that is about the same as myself because I thought it would be easier to learn when you already know some traces of personality and you just have to adjust one or another depending on fantasy concepts... however, I found this to be an imense challenge too, and you know why? Because you are so close to your character that sometimes you confuse what belongs to your character and what belongs to you... In that way I believe playing a different personality is much better, since you have no or little attachments to it and anything directed to this character won't affect you.

So.. whatever it is you pick for being your character.. just think a little of how much of a challenge it will be for you and if you are up for it. As I was reading.. most humans have this strange feeling of needing to be someone you are not, even if for just a while. The fun of roleplaying is up to each person, please don't say you should be like you are or something completely different.. it is all up to what you would like to be in the game.. if its close to yourself, great! If it someone completely different, that is also great! Just think a little of the consequences of chosing a character, and keep in mind two things:

1) Act as your character would, not as you would yourself, being the character close to you or not, because nobody lives today the way they lived in Illarion times, not to mention the different races. Define your character's personality and follow it.

2) Remember this is just a game and other players are roleplaying as much as you are and that just because you chose that your character would be close to yourself that does not mean that other people have chosen to do so themselves. Don't judge the player for their characters.

I bet I could be a real pain!! :D

Yeah but what if you've based your character on everything you are except you want to have magic powers. You know let's say if my character was shy and lack confidence but determined and brave then nothing would be different from my real life except maybe I wanna be a kick-ass mage too?

To be honest there is a thin line between myself and the characters I use for various roleplaying purposes so wouldn't that mean defining personality would be easier?

If this didn't make any sense then:

An interesting question you should ask yourself.
Would your character ever be able to do something you do NOT agree with personally?

If your having trouble making your characters personality, Find somone you know but is compleatly diferent to you and base your character around them. Could be a friend, relative or even a teacher. Just think how they would act if they were 'in' this game. Would they boast about their fighting abilitys? or be realy laid back and not care about what happens.. :D

I would but one of my friends takes rittalin to calm himself down and my other friend is so small, a rain drop counts as a half-n-hour shower. They aren't really social like me AND they have the same fighting skills as Andrew from Buffy... in that look at Andrew from Buffy and you'll get what I mean...

And why the hell would I base it on one of my teachers? I'd end up calling it Miller the Crack... I imagine him (Miller, my science teacher) as a good fighter though coz he's always got a little kids by the neck!

This teacher sounds like the man!
When I left school, I duck taped my science teacher to a table in his classroom and left him for his next class to find when they arrived. He always pissed me off, I even thought of force feeding him laxatives for more harmless fun, but didn't.
