I really believed developers and players were meeting halfway and that the spider cave was going to be tweaked in a way that made it playable again. I was surprised to discover that the spiders are even more overpowered than before this update.
The first spider I encountered was a spider queen who could reduce my hit points by half from eight paces away. She was around the first turn from the entrance so it looks like even the spawn points are still unbalanced.
I know that mid level dungeons are in the works but removing the one that we had before a replacement was ready was really putting the cart before the horse. From my perspective as a player, it looks like the goal of development is to discourage gamers from playing here. At the very least it shows lack of vision and organization. I'm really disappointed.
Kamilar, I completely agree.
The last update made the spider dungeon completely useless. The fighting char I used to check the dungeon has skills between 80 and 90. I walked through the whole dungeon.
The spawn points are disadvantagous. The amount of spiders is low. The drops are poor (did the drops change, I found mud ...). The experience gain is low.
Why should my char visit that dungeon together with a larger group? Less experience, less loot, zero fun.

FOIG is an outdated and not very helpful reply. When I can walk the map for hours and never see another player, this is not a realistic response to a problem. If there is something fabulous in game that I'm missing, why hide it behind a members only sign? Why not advertise it proudly? Make a list, draw a map, make it public information. There's currently very little reason to log in. Making that sort of information readily available might be an incentive to log in and check things out. Maybe it's just me, but the prospect of logging in to go around begging from the handful of other people online isn't all that appealing.
Why does it seem like theres more hostility about this spider dungeon than anything else?
Spider dungeon was a place where fighter chars could get alot of money really easily. There also seemed to be a surge in people with higher fighting levels. Thats what this is about, its not about an rp meeting place because as much as i personally took my char down there it was either empty or filled with the same powergamers that had little interest in rp at that present moment. Sure now i cant make as much money as before but whatever, warriors in fantasy settings werent the rich ones. Get over it, do a craft, and train with your friends.
I feel this community has degenerated to a constant barking contest, who can bark the most and the loudest. I've contributed too much of the bickering and illarion is more of an annoyance to me lately than anything else. The devs work their asses off to make the game right and struggle with the dogs contantly barking in their ears. Writing proposals to me feels more like writing a complaint and i feel guilty for bothering the devs about it...
I just want to enjoy illarion like i used to but i feel thats out of the question because everyone wants something different from this game.
