I abstain myself from voting.

Not because I doubt the suitability of these two candidates, but because I know neither of them well enough to make a choice. After reading Shandariel’s and Shenandrea’s writings, I feel they are both highly qualified and equally suitable to fulfil the position of our Elder. I put my trust in both candidates and in my brothers and sisters to make the right choice.

Das zweite und letzte Zwischenergebnis ist gezählt. Mit 14 zu 9 führt unsere Schwester Shandariel vor unserer Schwester Shenandrea. Dabei gab es zwei Enthaltungen und eine Stimme die ich noch nicht zählen kann und so als momentan ungültig erkläre. Es handelt sich um die Stimme von Etoi Tjime für Shenandrea. Es gibt Hinweise, dass der Stimmzettel mehrmals überschrieben wurde. So hege ich den Verdacht eines Betrugsversuches. Werte Brüder und Schwester, gibt es zwei Elfen unter euch, die für die Lebendigkeit von Etoi Tjime bürgen? Wenn ja erkenne ich seine Stimme an.
Alle anderen Elfen und nichtelfischen oder menschlichen Halbelfen die auf der Insel leben bitte ich ihre Stimme in den nächsten Zwergentage abzugeben. Das Ende dieser Wahl rückt immer näher.

Ich kann für die Existenz von Etoi bürgen. Ich bin ihm die letzten Tage auf Vanima mehrmals begegnet. Er mag neu sein auf unserer Insel, aber er ist real.

Bevor ich meine Wahl abgebe wollte ich mir selbst die Chance geben Shenandrea etwas kennenlernen. Ein kleines Gespräch mit ihr ergab dann eine zunehmende Erschwernis für meine Entscheidung. Nach reiflicher Überlegung habe ich mich nun entschieden.

I hereby vouch for the existence of Etoi Tjime. He was a starving newcomer in tattered rags when I met him, and through New Hope charity I was able to clothe him in new green robes so that he would not feel the chill so much. The fact that his very existence is not even clear for some on our fair land speaks very poorly of our exalted society. Nobody welcomed him when he arrived, and too few have bothered to help him adjust to what must be a shockingly new place and people. Clearly, too many souls are falling through the cracks of negligence, and I will continue praying that the will to share life in all its fullness will solidify in every heart.

I vote for Shandariel.

I have little doubt that either of the candidates would be capable of filling this position and their statements have illustrated their wisdom and commitment for Vanima and its ideals. However, I am more familiar with Shandariel and have witnessed her dedication for our island and its inhabitants. Therefore, my vote goes to her.

Die Zeit für die Wahl ist fast zuende. Alle die noch ihre Stimme abgeben wollen sollten dies bis spätestens morgen früh tun. Jede Stimme die später abgegeben wird, kann nicht mehr gezählt werden.

Die Wahl der neuen Elder ist beendet. Es haben insgesamt 32 Elfen beziehungsweise Menschen und menschliche Halbelfen die auf Vanima leben dürfen ihre Stimme abgegeben. Dabei konnten alle Stimmen am Ende zugeordnet werden und somit ist keine Stimme als ungültig erklärt. Die Verteilung der Stimmen sieht folgender maßen aus: Es gibt 5 Enthaltungen, 11 haben Shenandrea gewählt und 16 gaben ihre Stimme Shandariel.

Als Wahlleiter ist es mir eine Freude in Folge dieser Abstimmung eine neue Elder von Tol Vanima zu verkünden:

Die neue Elder von Tol Vanima ist Shandariel aus dem Hause el Lysanthai.

Möge ihr Weg voller Weisheit und Güte sein. Auf das sie Tol Vanima gerecht führe und so ihrem Haus Ehre bringt.

I thank you all for your trust and your faith in my person. I can't describe how honoured and happy I feel right now... I promise I will do my best and whatever stands in my might to serve Vanima and to make it prosper and peacefull!

I want to thank Shenandrea for being such a wonderful woman...always fair, kind and concerned for Vanimas well being....It saddens me that one of us had to be second in this election...so much i would have liked to see her becomming an elder aswell. She is a remarkable elfess. We can be happy to have her on Vanima.

May the five guide our pathes and my our ancestors watch over us.
