The thing is, is that jail time really is the only punishment that characters can give other characters. Everything else they absolutely positively must agree to.
"Your character attacked and clouded fifteen characters in a twenty minute span. Permission to kill?"
"No."
"May we place a curse on you?"
"No."
Besides, who wants a thief to escape using only himself? Its much more interesting to have a number of thieves help break him out!

Fight fire with fire I say. If they cloud fifteen chars and say you cant kill them, then screw them - they have no right to say no and you should use it as your own right not to listen to that nonsense. And if the gm banned you for clouding a char that clouded 15 chars then something is seriously wrong. Plus it is good rp for a guard to cut someone down if they refuse to pay the fine or go to jail - look at games like Oblivion for example - guards arents wooses you know

They are badass mofos!!

Except the guards aren't powerful enough to kill the character so that's irrelevant.

We got Pickpocking on our todo lists but there is a lifetime filling amount of stuff before pickpocking on the priority ordered todo list.
In case we got time we thing about how to implement it. But I have major doubts that this will be anytime within the next year(s).
