There is a fix on how people would not go behind buildings.Nitram wrote:One should think humans are able to learn and grow up and get mature.

...but leave some gaps for RP-opportunities. It is a good thing to have shadows where one can hide to e.g. ambush a rich, fat trader, but it is a bad thing that one can run around freely in the shadows of building, abusing them for persona-play.LifeWonder wrote:Yes please Lenny, do that.
Well, it is good to know that there is someone who knows exactly what the technical staffs job is.The Returner wrote:Oh I agree its possible for players to work around the bug in favor of the rules. But thats not the technical staffs job. Their job is to fix bugs and implement new, well tested features. And lately its been one "new flashy" turd after another.
This game was technicly sound in 2001. And well developed in 2003. And now the bastards busted.
I want some frigging bug fixes if their so worried about exploited bugs.
Actually that's what a tester does. Smash a mouse button and try to exploit/crash new features.Aernor Ingloril wrote:As for me volenteering - if i could do more than smash a mouse button i would. Be happy im not if you think there are alot of bugs now.
I have done many things for this game in terms of helping, but you know what? I'm sick of bothering because you, nitram or any number of staff members will find ways to flame me further.Nop wrote:
Listen up:
- there is no "They". This game is driven by volunteers. We haven't seen you volunteering anything useful. So either put yourself to work and help or shut up
I love the pace and hate direction of the updates for the game.- there is no "their jobs". This is our hobby and our spare time. If you don't like the pace or direction of progress, well - either put yourself to work and help or shut up
Like what? The gameplay was easier. The mechanics were easier. The crafting system was easier. The magic system wasent broken. And you could actually find people to RP with when there were like 5 online.- you also seem to suffer from bad memory if you call the 2001 state "technically sound". I remember better since I fixed many of the severe problems back then. So if you had put yourself to work and helped...
A complete rework in the form of invisible boulders. Yes, lets torture our map editors with something so very hard! I CANT BELIEVE I SUGGESTED IT, I'M SORRY!- your posts show you are utterly clueless in technical matters or blessed with remarkable ignorance. You don't realize the difference between a minor bug fix and a complete rework of a client/server concept even after it has been explained to you.
So we have a test server for...?- actually, it is not possible to "implement well-tested features". First you implement them, then they need to be tested. Which requires testers. As in volunteers. Get the idea?
It hasen't been bothering me personally. Whats been bothering me is arrogant staff arrangements, poor choices in moderation, really poor judgement in banning and a complete lack of want, from your volunteer staff. You have my deepest commiseration that this problem has been annoying your poor soul for 8 years and you never had anything more constructive to offer than ignorance, whining - and, of course, calling names.
In this case, it woulden't be a dirty fix. Because the code would have to be entirely reworked to fix the real problem at hand, thus this would be either a fix, or a solution to a problem that might be fixxed by our fine technical staff volunteers, sometime in the future, way down the road.Hadrian_Abela wrote:Putting boulders in place is called a 'dirty fix'. Programmers try to avoid it. Just so you know.
