I would just like to ask will ig time effect your character? For instance if I make a character at 18 will he age over time?

No. Because Illarion is like the Neverland ranch. Little boys never need to grow up there!

aging real time would be overkill. remaking chars when they get old and die.

I'm a bit confused...will this show the armor on your characters? finally making everyone look different?

Yes and no.
It will display your (and other characters/monsters) names in different colors, indicating the weapon class they are wearing.
And by "looking at" a character (and later also monsters), you will see what they wear (also in their hands).

In my opinion they should try to let the weapons and armor show up on the models. Even though I can understand the hassle of making all the models and weapons. Still, it would elevate the game that much farther.

I hope it shows armor....unless you have an option to wear a blouse underneath or there will be permanent naked chars.

Wear shirts...blue...black...red...green...maybe if you ask nicely someone on the staff will make more colors of shirts, so you won't have to be naked.

Hm. I was wondering if it would be now finally possible to get a "hood" item?

i think aging characters would be good. also don't whine about making new ones. only 25 ig years have passed. in seven years of illarion. that means you can have even a human character for about 21+ years in RL. if you are dwarf that is about 40+ years and an elf is about... 240 RL years. this will only help with what race you choose. right now elf isn't much better then human because the have basically the same attributes. but if humans die and elves don't, then elves can get better at whatever it is they choose to do because they live that much longer. AND before you complain that this is unfair, this is the reason why in many stories elven equipment is always the best, the elves making it have practiced the same thing for 1000 years or more. you are bound to get better then any human could in mere 100 years. so if all you have is human characters boo woo for you, suck it up.

Please do this. It would finally stop people conveniently gaining xray vision ig.

wel since we are on the subject of aging
i would only agree with aging characters if their stats adjusted as they aged.
young chars would have higher physical and lower menta, and as they age their mental increases as their physical slowly decreases
for a human
-1 str and -1 agi at say..at age 60, but +1 int and +1 willpower
then at age 70 maybe it shifts again
-1 con -1 dex +1 int +1 ess
and so forth until the characters body fails and dies
but do we really want this level of realism? i vote ...no

and what would proper weight be for someone 10 inches?
Posted: Sun Jun 29, 2008 6:21 pm
by AlexRose
Severely underweight = less than 16.5
Underweight = from 16.5 to 18.5
Normal = from 18.5 to 25
Overweight = from 25 to 30
Obese = from 30 to 35
Clinically Obese = from 35 to 40
Morbidly Obese = above 40
Work it out.
1850/703 = 2.63
2500/703 = 3.56
A healthy 10 inch fairy would therefore be about 3lb, but then if you take into account they also have wings.. well, this is up to you, do you imagine your fairy with butterflyish wings or flappy wings?

hmm does that mean that there can be thick but small halflings..does the weigth actually influence the "wide" of the avatar?

no. There is only proportional scaling. Everything else looks crappy.

Oooh exciting, this is where we find out everyone has left their height and weight stats at the default resulting in a large number of very short underweight people.
The look at feature sounds awesome too, and yeah, I would love to see the 'hood' idea implemented now. Though this creates great opportunities for zones where drawn weapons are prohibited.
Though, not wanting to sound ungrateful, but is there any news on the static light development that is, as I understand, in progress?

Illarion is online again.
Light will yet take awhile. The client basically supports it, but part of the server protocol needs to be redone in order to make it work.

Not having numbers makes it extremely difficult to identify people, which is good! But i suggest having every character make a very short sentence to identify them. Limited by 25 or so characters.
For example, Salathes line would be "Scarred Lizard".
My problem is that i saw 3 people defined by the same description. Which makes it very difficult to follow a conversation when all the names are identical. I would ask there names, but that is out of salathes character.
Also... how do we !name people now?

type name right click, give name
edit: you can examine oneself by a left click, however this is just examine and not examine closely, examine closely function please for yourselves.
